For receiving and lightweight blankets; uses Bedspread Weight Cotton Thread, NOT yarn.
This is a simple two page laminated booklet with 8 designs. I am sure the edgings will be nice, but I wanted to let others know that it is for Bedspread Weight Cotton Thread, not yarn. So that you can better prepare, here are the materials required for each blanket.* 1 1/8 yards cotton flannel or seersucker per blanket* 6 " Diameter cardboard circle (used as a guide to make the corners rounded)* Scissors* Fabric Marking Pen* Sewing needle and thread* Bedspread Weight Cotton Thread (size 10), approximately 200 yards each blanket (will vary slightly per blanket)* Steel crochet hook, size 6 (1.80 mm)I am looking forward to trying to make some of these.

Great way to dress up a baby blanket to make it something special
I purchased these instructions when prepping for my last baby back in 1996. I made a couple for myself and have made many others over the years to give as gifts. They always get lots of attention. It makes something so necessary with a little baby into something very special that becomes a treasure that will be kept and maybe handed down. Highly recommended. When I saw this, I had to purchase, because I made a couple for a dear friend and she liked them so much that she wanted to learn how to make them...now I can provide her with her own set of instructions.

Eh...yes & no.
It is as discribed, but I was hoping for more. The borders were rather simplistic, & the whole thing was just 2 pages frount & back. It came quick, though, & I think a beginner might find it helpful.

Patterns OK, Directions Confusing for a beginner
For a beginner the patterns seemed confusing and I needed more direction to completely understand what to do. I was not impressed with the patterns and had I seen this prior to buying I would have passed. I am sure if I had a more experienced instructor to help me I would have really enjoyed this product more. This is just my opinion.

Wonderful gift to make
Love making these blankets. They are easy to make and very pretty! The directions are simple and easy to follow. A little much for a true beginner, but with some help and guidance from someone experienced it's easy. The rows are lots of repetition, so easy to pick up.
