Highly recommend for worm bedding
I purchased Pitt Moss for worm bedding based on a recommendation from a YouTube video. The moisture retention in this product is awesome! I did not have to worry about water dripping out of my worm bag, and the worms acclimated quite well. I know I can shred paper and cardboard, but frankly, I do not have time and needed something easier that would not serve as a deterrent to trying vermicomposting. This helps me keep it in the low maintenance range. Returning to buy more to have on hand since it sold out right after I purchased it. Will only use this product as my bedding.

Crazy, this stuff makes plants grow
This is both a great product, and a product that is good for the earth. It is better and cheaper than Peat moss, plus it is made of recycled paper product, instead of digging up a diminishing supply of Peat that is not carbon friendly. Plus, the real thing I like is that it does make plants grow!

Great for a Peat Free Soil Block Mix
I've been trying to find a recipe for a soil block recipe that doesn't contain peat due it's contribution to climate change from CO2 release. I've discovered that equal parts of Coconut Coir, PittMoss and well screened compost with Perlite or vermiculite added for drainage results in a soil block similar to using peat that doesn't crumble and holds moisture well. Very pleased that this product has been developed using locally sourced waste stream material

Great sustainable alternative to peat moss
I used Pitt Moss in place of peat moss to make my own potting mix based on the “Mel’s Mix” recipe from the book “Square Foot Gardening.” (The recipe calls for equal parts peat, vermiculite, and blended compost.) It seems to have worked well and does a good job of keeping the mix moist. I really like that the product is sustainable (there is a limited supply of peat in the world and it apparently doesn’t renew as quickly as it is consumed.) I also like that is made from recycled paper and that it is light weight, so easy to store.

True love
I use Pittmoss Soil Amendment as a base for my home potting soil mix by adding rice hulls and compost. My plants love it. Everything from cannabis to vegetables, flowers, and house plants. I'd say better than peat moss and better for the environment.

Three Stars
Does not seem to absorb water very well or it appears to me that way

It did not mix with my soil. Clumping.
It did not mix with my soil it was clumpy and did not help aeration.

An excellent growing medium
I use it several different ways but always notice plants look healthier. ...and it’s because they have strong roots! Keep it fluffy so roots can explore and benefit from the air spaces.
