Assembly and use directions are very unclear. But I eventually figured it out and this is the easiest siphon I have used!I have a 15 gal planted tank with a lot of nooks and crannies. I used this to get into all the little spots. It worked perfectly. I am glad that the siphon came with a little filter cap on the end. I was afraid of sucking up a little shrimp by accident. But the filter tip made that impossible!

Perfect for cleaning debris from sand substrate, and drains water fairly quickly. Plugged a few times, but quickly unplugged.This is going to make spot cleaning a breeze!Highly recommend for tanks 5 gallons and smaller, or for spot cleaning sand.

Mi unica observación es que compre 2 uno venia con tubo de silicon y otro con tubo de plastico, ambos funciona pero el de silicon es mas practico por que el tubo es mas felxible y se extiende solo y el de plastico se mantine curvo.Por lo demas se me hace excelente

Bought this as a gravel vacuum for an aquarium but getting anywhere near a piece of gravel immediately clogs this thing up. It siphons water just fine, the starter bulb is an aspect I really love, but when it comes to cleaning it's way too tiny and the extender bit is completely and permanently clogged on mine with unremovable gravel.The upside is, it would be absolutely perfect for decanting homebrew beer, cider, or wine. Nothing in that to clog it, the starter bulb would eliminate issues with starting a siphon that I always run into with my homebrew siphon, the narrow probe would fit easily in the neck of any carboy, and the clip would keep it in place while I handled bottles. I badly want to buy a proper gravel vacuum and repurpose this but I'm not sure there's any way to totally and completely sterilize the inside of it after using it in an aquarium lol. So for now, I'll just continue to use it essentially as a watering hose between my water change bucket and my potted plants-- if you grow non-aquatic plants and haven't tried this trick you're missing out on a lot of free high quality organic fertilizer! With how well my plants grow from this habit, I could basically sell the used water to local plant enthusiasts if I wasn't already using it all up myself.

Would have expected this to last longer than a single use for the price. Doesn’t syphon anything. Disappointed.
