It's kind of weird writing about a toilet seat. But everybody uses one everyday - many times. We came across this seat a very long time ago. We added the first one with skepticism and was immediately hooked thereafter. The slow close feature is incredible. No more waking everyone in the house up in the middle of the night by the harsh sound of a dropped toilet seat. The slow close feature lasts for around ten years before it begins to fail on average (8 years in the busiest restroom, 12 years in the least used).The material the lid and seat are made of is second to none. They are very durable and solid through and through. No more swollen wood under a thin plastic coated seat and lid that require regular annual replacement. The finish on the seat and lid will remain beautiful as long as you care for it with cleaning solutions, not scouring pads and pumice based scrubbing compounds. Most of the damage we've experienced has been by something like screwdriver in my back pocket when I sit down to tie my boots. I have wrongfully and unsafely stood on mine many times. NOT a good idea. But a statement of their strength and durability. I think someone standing on one to look out the window is what broke the hinge after 12 years of service.They are exceptionally easy to install. The porcelain of toilets can be cracked by over tightening the bolts/nuts that hold a seat in place. This seat has bolts/nuts that have a self limiting torque feature wherein the nuts snap off when the desired torque value is achieved. Therefore your seat and lid are tight enough to stay in place, but not so tight the porcelain gets broken. Once the seat is set, it stays in place. It does not slip and twist when you sit on it (or wrongfully stand on it...). So enjoy! :)

After having gone through two seats which cracked due to poor design, this one is hanging in there. Initially I thought it was pretty flimsy and wouldn’t make it without breaking, but it’s been good for the two months it’s been installed. Users report it’s solid. Seems less so than the others, but the support pads must be just right.

Easy to install, comfortable, easy to clean, well built. I'm glad that I picked this one.

The seat itself is great. Sturdy, included installation hardware was foolproof. No more seat wobble.My only gripe is the seam from the molding runs along the front lip of the seat. So when I first got it and I leaned to the side it would catch on my leg and caused a bit of pain. I've since changed the direction I lean slightly and the issue is resolved. I could probably take some sandpaper to the seam as well, but worried I might mar the finish. Regardless, a smooth finish along the lip of the seat would have been preferred.

I am 6'5" tall and weigh 350lbs. I have been using this toilet seat for several months. It is comfortable. The soft close continues to work perfectly and with its special mountain system, it stays where you mounted it.ONE WARNING:It stays where you mounted it!! Make sure you align it up PERFECTLY before you even begin tightening down the bolts! When I first hand tightened down the nuts, the seat was misaligned by about an 1/8". (Not much, but visually noticeable.) I then pushed the seat over and held it in place while I used a wrench to tighten the nuts until they broke off as designed. When I released the seat, it moved back to the 1/8th" misalignment. It ain't moved since!I would recommend you tape the seat firmly in place once you have it perfectly aligned. Do this BEFORE you start hand tightening the plastic bolts. This mounting system seems to do an excellent job of holding it in place. a big problem with the previous new seat I had installed.(-:

I’ve been using this toilet seat for almost a month now and I must say this appears to be one tough toilet seat. I have already put it through the wringer multiple times and it has come through like a trooper. I have broken every toilet seat I have ever used before and I’m keeping my fingers crossed this seat won’t let me down. I feel confident this seat will hold up to whatever I can throw at it due to its seemingly indestructible manufacturing. I want to add you will find the bottom of the seat cleans easily even after the most vigorous morning constitutional no matter the amount of splatter there may be. Two thumbs up on this product!!

The lid seemed like a good price to me. It turned out to be pretty easy to install, but I do consider myself to be a handy person. If you have never done any work on your house, maybe this would be a difficult install, but seriously, it was not difficult by my experience.I did learn that there are either round bowl toilets or oval shaped bowl toilets. That is how you know which is the correct lid for your toilet: is it round or an oval bowl?This is a soft close lid. I did not know I would care. As it turns out, I really like the soft close.Be warned: if you install a soft close lid to your toilet at home, you may find yourself inadvertently letting the toilet lid slam close in other people's houses or in public rest rooms. You have been warned. : )

I have severe arthritis so when I land on a toilet seat its a bit hard. This one is not breakable and is super solid. It did the job.

Look OK, works OK, very shiny. I luckily had the previous nuts which were of far better quality and more classical design, so after ditching the nuts it came with, I installed it quite easily.In the end I am satisfied with the acquisition. Seems to be antimicrobial too, although this is not indicated very boldly.

First of all, I am constantly amazed by all the kind of stuff you can get from Amazon. I mean, ordering a toilet seats is next level. I was looking for a heavy sturdy one and was very satisfied with what I got. I am partially disabled and was anticipating the installation process. To my great surprise, it was very easy to install and it fits perfectly. So easy to clean as well.Would never get a wooden toilet seat ever again. This brand is the Cadillac of all toilet seats. (I am very picky about toilet seats) Never thought I would say that one day but each time I look at it I am happy with my purchase, the easy and well-done installation as well as the look of it. Sturdy product, probably the last seat I will need in a very long time.

I bought these for our two toilets after getting fed up of buying cheaper replacement seats that kept coming loose. My husband is on the heavy side so that was another issue when looking for a replacement. It took about two weeks for the seats to arrive to the UK. They fitted easily and are very sturdy. No loose hinges at all. Also, they are very easy to clean and for someone with a toilet germ phobia, there are very few crevices for the germs to lurk. Yes, they are slightly more expensive but I would rather pay a bit more for quality.Update in March 2024. This toilet seat is still going strong. The hinges haven't loosened at all and it's very easy to clean. Was well worth the money.
