This desk lamp is inexpensive, but the quality seems very good. I like being able to choose dim options and color options. I would recommend it.

This is a neat little lamp and it fits in very well with my desk setup. I prefer to keep a neat and organized desk as a work area, messy cables running around are kind of a pet peeve of mine.It’s a genuinely sharp-looking little lamp that is perfect for my small desktop.It’s got a lot of options as far as colors and lighting modes, but I don’t really fool around with them too much. I just found the setting that I wanted and I keep it at that particular setting. Just be aware that you have options!An interesting feature is the automatic shut-off timer, 30-60-90 minutes. So you could use this as a Pomodoro device that is a little less jarring than an alarm or an annoying app on your phone. Light goes off? Take a break, then come back and reset it.

I’m using this on a bedside table, on its dimmest and warmest modes. In that setting, I really appreciate that the on button (and only that one) is lit when the light is off, making it easy to find in the dark. I don’t use the night light, which is too bright to have by the bed; it might be useful in an office or living room.Another positive about this lamp: the ability to turn the lighting head is unusual in such lamps and a nice way to direct it away from the eyes.There are also some negatives. (1) As described, the base only turns 30°, which is less than many similar lamps. Where I’m using it, that’s not really an issue. (2) The diffuser isn’t very effective, so you very clearly see individual LEDs; I have another light of this style where the lighting surface is uniformly lit. (3) The description says “Shade Material: Aluminum / Material: Aluminum” and “[Durable Aluminum Material’ Made of large number of high-quality Aluminum to ensure longer lifespan and and stylish look”. Elsewhere in the description, only the pole is described as metal. I really don’t see much about this lamp that isn’t plastic.The power and charging specs are confusing. The short About this Item description says “[USB Charging Port] You can power your smartphone, tablet, and other devices with a 5V/3A USB port which is much faster on the back bottom of the table lamp without looking for an outlet.” If true that’s a plus, 15W of charging should be pretty quick for a phone (many similar lamps only give 5V/1A or 5V/2A). HOWEVER, further down in the description, there’s a list of specs that are inconsistent: “Input: DC 5V/2A”, “USB output: 5V/3A” and “Rated power: 6.5W”. If they really have a way to take 5V/2A input and deliver 5V/3A output, they need to get out of the lamp business, scale it up and give us all free electricity!It’s powered by a (supplied) USB charger. I’m not sure why they list Camping as one of the uses. I suppose you could power it off of a USB battery pack.Conclusion: Pretty close to 5 stars, but I finally decided that the negatives reduced it by a star. And really, how hard can it be to write descriptions and specifications that don’t contradict themselves?

The versitility of this lamp first attracted me. The ease of touch, variety of lighting settings, a night light and timers has earned it a place on my desk where I read books and documents, and hand-write letters, cards, and drafts of a novel I am working on. From my experience with other desk lamps, I tell you this one is the best for reading and writing.
