Old school
Absolutely love this helmet old school but way better than any automatic on the market. Buy the 2.25”x4” auto darkening lense and never look back.

Welding helmet
These helmets are the best for all welders, you need to grind flip you front and grind. Yes you can get a auto lens for this helmet, and yes they are around 50 bucks and work wonders. For the price, I always have these helmets on all welding jobs, nothing else. Buy this helmet you wont be disappointed. Real welders wear these helmets, no battery's needed.

Great but big hood
Provides outstanding protection. Like other pipeliners, recommend you trim some off the bottom and possibly top if you want as well, it'll lighten the load and stop slamming into your chest whenever you're about to start welding. You can trim the inside lens pocket on the flip up with a knife, file, or dremmel tool to widen the gap for an ADF. I use the Lincoln 4C ADF 2x4 1/4 at .35 thickness and it fits in there with an outside lens, gasket, then adf, with another outside lens on the back to protect it when I flip it open to grind etc.Smaller heads don't fit so good in the standard ratchet headgear, so keep that in mind if you've got a small head like me (7"), so you may need a nice sweatband to thicken it up for better grip or just use the rubberband headgear with some surgical tubing instead of the rubber band. All in all fantastic hood that is RIGID, not like Sellstrom bucket style where its all flexible and bends easily.
