DP Audio Video DS633 3-Way 6.5-Inch Car Speakers

just like near all the amplifiers, don't believe the "power specs". they say 400 means 200 then divide by 3 is 66.. and that's THE PAIR! these will handle about 35 watts each very maximum. I'm not knocking the speakers really, just these unreal power specs! NOW lets get to the good dirty stuff, my new BOSS mechless head unit claims 50Wx4 and they're just as much jokers about this stuff as everyone else is, it's realistically about 17Wx4, beyond that it's puking up lots of distortion of course (and don't touch the units heat sink, you could fry an egg on it!). I will knock the DP-XO mechless head unit for only having half the power of the BOSS units, spend the extra 5-10 bucks!but-but.. they DO work together extremely well. the mechless BOSS and 4 of these in a Geo-Chevy-Metro hatchback (where you just don't have much room to play in), sounds excellent without spending for an amp and a subwoofer that there really isn't room for. as for the sensitivity specs (91db/w/m) and range (35hz to 22khz), they do dish out some pretty good lows for 6" speakers, a little louder and much cleaner sounding than the scosche's I just swapped them for. the scosche's having bigger magnets, wanting more power, and too darn midrange ringy for my liking while lacking some bass. on a budget or not, I'll recommend this basic setup for slapping into about any car. these are efficient-loud and decent sounding, honestly better than most. construction IS on the cheap flimsy tin stamping side, same for the grills that may need some rubber cement on the edges to stay put if you need to use them.

I bought these at a big box retailer for about the same price as they are listed here. Installed them to replace the factory speakers in an older Isuzu. These were a huge upgrade in sound, base response, everything. For this price this is a no-brainer!
