Hurst Reviews Medical-Surgical Nursing Review 1st Edition

I love the hurst Review series. This book is definately a great review. I highly recommend it for any seasoned nurse and definately a great companion for any nursing student! I wish I would have had any one of the Hurst books when I was in nursing school. Glad I found them now. Marlene hurst uses humor and knowledge from years of experience to help us understand and remember it all. I really love that she scatters her sense of humor into every chapter, it really breaks it up and adds much needed spice to nursing! I love Hurst so much that I also took her review class, another thing I wish I would of known about while I was still in nursing school.... Better late than never...Buy this book, definately worth it!

This is an excellent review book for studying Med/Surg. It's easy to comprehend the medical terminology that nurses must know for the disease process. There are some helpful tips to assist you in learning the material. I wish I had bought this book in the beginning of my program. I have learned a lot since I purchased this book. Great tool to use for studying the RN Boards!

This book or the online lecture from Hurst are very very helpful for nclex. One of my 3 of my friends have used it and they all passed their nclex exam. Is it not wonderful? I recommend it to anyone taking nclex.

Marlene "talks" too much. I have several books of her because she writes like she speaks and addresses you as if you were a friend or someone close. So the teaching is agreeable and clear to understand most of the times. As I say too much talking can be a bit annoying but overall good helping stuff for students.

GREAT REVIEW BOOK FOR MED-SURG! IT IS A VERY DESCRIPTIVE BOOK, WHICH GOES INTO DETAIL TO EXPLAIN THE TOPIC AND REALLY BREAK IT DOWN, SO THAT ITS CLEAR. THERE ARE QUIZES AT THE END OF EVERY CHAPTER ALONG WITH THE RATIONALES.

I gave this Book 5 out of 5.It has important information, and was easy to read.I recommend this book to very time there is a discussion about review nursing books.

Hurst knows her stuff. User friendly book. Pick this up, even though it is not on your required textbook list in nursing school.
