Where's the 'soft' in the 'softee'?
Got this yarn to crochet a cape with a stand up collar for a friend of mine. Thought she would love the color. I don't think I'll be giving it to her. The yarn isn't soft, almost to the point of being rough. And although it worked up well, no splitting or tangling, it just doesn't have the quality to it that I expected. The color is okay but not really what I expected either. I have 3 more skeins of it which I'll probably try for mittens or hats for me but I don't think it's good enough for gifts. I've liked other Bernat yarns, but they've had wool in them. This is 100% acrylic, so maybe the lack of wool content is the difference. But Lion Brand has a similar weight yarn also 100% acryic and the texture is much nicer.

Natural Color is Creamy Yellow!
I have been using Bernat Soft & Chunky yarn for a long time. I placed this order for the "Natural" color and what I received looks creamy yellow. It's definite;y not the same color as the Natural sold in stores or by comparison, not even close to the Natural I already own. I am probably going to return and keep fingers crossed the Linen and Denim Blue from Amazon are the actual colors they are supposed to be.Very disappointed!

Shipment problems
Received only 3 skeins co rafted seller who stated they were out of stock on this color wrote a review a few minutes after hearing this and immediately within 5 minutes after posting a review I received a call saying they magically received a shipment and would be sending the other half of my order immediately I love this yarn and was disappointed to only receive half shipment and then told they were out of stock. This is a great value for the money not sure if I will purchase from them again as I feel they were being dishonest but appreciate them deciding to futile my full order when pressed

Great chunky yarn
I tend to prefer what I call "fat yarn" where possible (some projects just don't lend themselves well to chunky yarn - I found this out when I made a seed stitch soap sack: the thicker yarn made it harder for the soap to get through, so it ended up eating through the soap bar way quicker than it should have; when I made another one with "skinny yarn", this was no longer a problem).I'm currently using this particular yarn in this color (forest- an earthy, sagey forest green) to make a large queen sized patterned blanket for when it gets cold this year. It's soft, easy to work with, and the color is gorgeous (I'm a huge fan of natural earthy tones, and green is my favorite color). This blanket is going to end up taking roughly 20+ skeins, so it's also nice that these 6 packs are so affordable.I've also tried other colors by this brand, and they don't disappoint either. This is generally my go-to when I'm looking for fat yarn, as it tends to be affordable and good quality for the price. Would definitely recommend.

Oh So SOFT!
It's been 20+ years since I've crocheted and got the 'itch' to start up again. I discovered the CHUNKY yarns and thought maybe it would work up faster and thicker. Well, it does. I finished the rows with another brand, started using the Lavender and could not believe the smooth, soft texture, especially compared to the other well-known brand I'm using. You can even tell in the photo the difference in brands. Money well spent!

The beauty brings out the best of all other colors!
I decided to make a queen size crocheted blanket late Dec, & began it w/o the addition of the dark taupe, but I get bored very easy, & wanted something richer in color. And, oh boy was this color more than I expected! Its soft, its absolutely beautiful against lighter colors, & seems to bring out these lighter colors so much more, so I decided to border the whole blanket w/the dark taupe, & even got carried away so much, I ended up w/king size instead! The thickness, and heaviness of this yarn, all from the same company, gave me the warmth, beauty, & heaviness of a homemade quilt which is what I wanted. Less blankets for spring/summer too. It beat out my greatest expectations by far on the beauty it gave my blanket. Im hooked! (No pun intended)!

The best yarn by far, but plan to buy a lot for your projects because the skeins are small
Vibrant shade of red, soft, thick and perfect for making a blanket. Typically I have to use double strands for my blankets but this is dense and nicely holds the shape of a pattern. The skeins are very small and a lot of yarn is needed to make a blanket. For example, I'm currently making a twin bed size one and have already gone through 24 skeins of this yarn, $80.00. I just had to order another 6-pk so when it's done I've spent a whopping $100.00! If I bought another brand/type of yarn it likely would've cost around $70.00. The finished product will definitely look rich, unique and above comparison in my opinion.

Good value, nice feeling yarn.....seems to want to break into separate strands a fair amount
Making a large, dense crochet stitch throw. I like the look and feel of this yarn and the price is the BEST I could find! The only negative is that the yarn does somewhat often try to go into smaller strands and catches my hook and I have to undo/redo. I know that is probably more common than I realize with larger gauge yarns. Having said that....If I had to do over, I would still buy this yarn again and if I could I would give it 4.5-4.7 stars.

Expensive product. One time Amazon wasn't the better option.
First time buyer. Not impressed with the cost versus quantity
