Snap Dragon Hyper Hands Kayak Pogies

I used these for lake kayaking in mid-30 degree water. On the way back we got hit by a snow storm, but my hands stayed warm throughout the 30 or so minutes during which the snow was blowing right into us. These were a godsend. I totally agree with the reviewers who say these are easy to get your hands in and out of. They keep you warm and dry without any gloves underneath. The air temperature on my 3-hour paddle was about 28 degrees F, so that could vary if you were out in super cold weather, but for me they did the trick--and I get cold easily. I love them so much I bought two more pairs for my husband and son. I don't think anyone should go cold water kayaking without them.

I've been winter boating in northern WV, PA, MD for over 15 years and these are the warmest, best design I've owned. I've used IR, Mtn surf, Seals & NRS pogies in past. I prefer the Snap Dragons over any of those mentioned. Very warm, wind resistant and easy to pull your hands in & out of in a pinch. I've worn these pogies in temps below 30 degrees in January and my hands were perfectly warm.

this is a great idea, and first-rate materials and workmanship. the only problem i have is that there is very little room in the openings for the paddle shaft, so it's impossible to get the velcro parts to make up smoothly. it just needs to have bigger holes. the paddle i use them on has a fairly small shaft. i like the pogies a bit looser on the shaft, so that the velcro lays together nicely, and so i can slip some water in to lube up or move the blades relative to my grip.very easy in and out, and very warm in the 50 F and windy paddle today.

I've owned these for just over one year. From October to mid-May, I found these things to be supremely comfortable. I live in Michigan -- it gets cold here!Previously, I've tried NRS Motion & NRS Mamba Pogies. Both of them had hand holes that were too small. The Motion pogies also suffered by being kind of "floppy", which made them additionally difficult to get one's hand into. The NRS Mambas additionally suffered by being extremely heavy (esp when wet).These Snap Dragon Pogies have an extremely large hand opening that make it easy to put hands in/out. If you are worried that this will let out too much heat -- don't. It is not a problem.Snap Dragon also offers another similar product called "Hot Hands". They are a similar design, but use a different material. Those "Hot Hands" are less expensive than this one, but I fear that they may get heavy when they absorb water (i.e., like my previous experience with the NRS Mambas).Overall, I am extremely happy with these Snap Dragon Hyper Hands Pogies and can recommend them with no reservations.

I've paddled white water for the past 18 years. Everyone once in a while I would see someone with Pogies, but couldn't imagine using them, thinking they couldn't be as warm as watertight gloves, or fearing maybe I wouldn't be able to get my hands out easily enough if I needed to. I couldn't have been more wrong. When I finally tried Snap Dragons, I found they easily fit on my paddle, my hands were more toasty at colder temperatures, and it was very easy to get my hands in and out of them. My hands are now warmer and I no longer have to mess with taking gloves on and off with cold hands...I've used them down to 30 degree air temps and near freezing water temps, so I'm now able to paddle year round! I give Snap Dragon Pogies my highest recommendation and encourage all my friends who kayak to use them!

Thick and warm. Because the exterior is slick/water shedding, they are warmer because there is little to no evaporative cooling, which is the bane of neoprene when exposed to the wind. I would buy these again (but I doubt I will need to, as they are very well made)

I tried my boyfriend's Snapdragon Hyper Hands Pogies and was immediately hooked! Unlike my previous pair of pogies, Hyper Hands have a wide wrist opening, and the material they are made out of is very rigid, which makes them easy to put back on if you need to slip your hand out. Despite the wide wrist opening, they are extremely warm and VERY comfortable. These pogies are a MUST HAVE for winter boating!

Excellent product, built well and keeps your hands nice and warm. I have large hands, and the Mambas seemed too tight to get in and out of easily, but that's not a problem with the Hyper Hands. Paddled some creeks with floating ice chunks all around, and my hands stayed nice and warm all day. Definitely recommend these to anyone paddling in cold water.
