Expert Shield Glass Screen Protector for Sony A6500/A5100 Camera, Standard

I ordered this for my A6500 as unlike the other glass screen protectors, this is the only one that advertised it being compatible with the Sony A6500 that was glass. I ready in one forum the the LCD screen on the A6500 was not flat as thus why the glass screen protectors would not work, only the more traditional flexible plastic ones. I was not able to confirm this anywhere so when I saw this screen protector was designs to work with the A6500, i figured they either figured how to make this fit correctly, or the other online comment on the screen not being flat was in error. As can be seen from the photo, the screen protector did not lay flat against the screen as there is a 1/8" - 1/4" border around the edge that is not adhered. This is not an application issue as it was installed correctly. As you can see, there is not a single air bubble on the screen except around the perimeter. Considering I what I paid which is 2X for what a typically phone glass screen protector costs for similar or larger size glass, I was disappointed this did not fit as advertised. Per my investigation, I think the screen is flat as designed but I don't think the Sony A6500 have flat LCD screens as I have read by others. I don't think this should be advertised as being compatible with the A6500.I also posted a question for this screen to see if anyone has been able to get their shield to lay flat on a A6500. No one has responded that they were able to get a good fit, and a couple others have found the same result as I where it does not lay flat.

I seem to have run into similar issues as others who have purchased the glass a6500 screen protector. The protector does not sit flat with the screen despite being aligned. I also tried to gently heat with a hairdryer after application but this did not help. I've left the screen protector in place for now but may need to try the plastic film protector as it's likely to better conform to the screen surface. The quality of the glass screen protector is nice... wish it would have worked.

This is regarding the GLASS protector. The dimensions fit the screen perfectly but seeing other people's images of the GLASS protector, it seems like a common issue. The glass doesn't completely flatten with the camera's screen, causing there to be a huge border around the center that doesn't make direct contact with the camera's screen. There are absolutely no dust particles inside as well. You probably won't have these issues with the Anti Glare or Crystal Clear though.

this is how it goes in my a6500. i thoroughly followed the instruction guide given however it appears that there is a problem with the glass itself. it is fine in the mid part but on the edges the bubbles doesnt go no matter what i do. i reapply for several times and still it happens the same thing on the edges. i ordered all the way from middle east and i cannot return it back coz i have to shoulder the shipping fee again. maybe i just got a defective shield for my conclusion.

Horrible. If you want a screen protector that actually fits the Sony a6500 DO NOT but this. I have had 2 replacement screens and all of them did not fit properly. The a6500 has a slight curve in the screen so when you apply the protector the glass cannot form to it properly and leaves bubbles in your screen. And yes I did everything possible to make sure I did not screw up the install.

Item does not fit well around the edges, the seal is not secure there. I have fitted quite a few covers in my time, so confident its not user issue.

I ordered the glass version of the shield for my A6500, but it turned out I have the edge lifting problem due to the slightly raised screen. Expert Shield proactively checked with me on how their item is performing, and I mentioned my problem. They promptly replaced my screen with the alternate and more flexible shield option (Crystal Clear), which worked wonderfully. I could not be happier with their product and service. Thank you.

Don’t be fooled. This product does not fit the A6500. The glass cut out fits the screen size but it does not adhere to it in its entirety- only the center does and an annoying perimeter that does NOT adhere forms.
