Be aware that the instruction manual requires the purifier to be at least 1 metre from any wall as well as plugged directly into a wall socket (i.e. not used with an extension cord). So, if you don't live in a mansion with large rooms, you may find, like me, that this is an impractical device for an ordinary-sized bedroom unless you want to trip over it at night when it is stuck out into the room. And unless you have several wall sockets handy, it also piles all other appliances, lamps, landline phones, chargers, etc. onto an extension cord in one socket. And it has cost me £30 to return it. Read the manual before buying... The desk version doesn't make the same stipulations so I will try that.

Buyer Beware- if you purchase this item on Amazon, make sure the seller is either Amazon or Dyson. I purchased it from another seller on Amazon, and upon receipt of the unit, I plugged it in, and it was very loud. The motor made a rattling noise, even on the lowest setting. When I contacted Dyson, they said the following:"Unfortunately, the seller of your Pure Hot and Cool is Carolinas. They are not authorized retatilers of our products. Since they are not authorized, they do not buy their stock directly from Dyson and we do not know where they acquire these produts. We cannot warranty purchases made through an unauthorized retailer."

Only tried on heat setting so far which has been good. Spreads the heat well and keeps it topped up on auto.Remote works well. Not used the app.

Not cheap but worth it on those really hot nights when you struggle to sleep. Beware this is a fan NOT an aircon.I haven't tried the heating function yet. You can control it via your phone.I just wish one could control it over the internet so to fan the room and purify the air before I arrive home.
