Q: Where are the valves on the coupler? Instructions say the couplers have valves but I see none.

There are two types of adapters, those with valves which also push down the schrader valves when opened, and the automatic ones which my kit came with. Sometimes a bit tricky to couple up, and gas can vent while trying to align and seat these couplers, but a few tries and you will sort it out. The valve types are easier. The instruction book is rubbish, watch some YouTube vids instead. Remember to purge the lines before connecting to car: Connect a can of gas to the yellow line, then open the valve on it and one at a time loosen adapter from a blue or red line slightly, and then open manifold valve slightly until gas escapes. Close manifold valve and re-tighten adapter. Repeat for other side. If you don't do this, you will push air & moisture into the system when charging the system. Best to wear safety glasses and maybe gloves when messing with Freon. Good Luck!

The hoses are 4 ft long for each.
