Held off on purchasing this mouse for a while, but now that I’ve been using it for 2 weeks I think I have a fairly good understanding of where the s1 excels. For the record I am a long time CS player (been playing since 1.6, and reached global in GO)Packaging:Comes with pretty simple packaging. With the mouse you get a support card, 2 stickers, and that’s it. Very minimalist and simple. Nothing wrong with that however for the price I kinda expected a little bit more.Shape:The shape of the s1 is fantastic. Its one of those shapes that can fit a good variety of grip styles. I personally fingertip the mouse and even with medium sized hands it works out wonderfully. There are no issues picking the mouse up, and over long matches Ive never once had any discomfort. The shape itself is symmetrical, but that doesn’t mean the mouse is ambidextrous because it only has side buttons on the left side (for right handed gamers). The shape is very similar to the old steelseries sensei mice, but with a bit more “filling”. Its hard to explain. But this extra filling along with the fingergrooves reminiscent of razer mice make the s1’s shape pretty unique. I would categorize this as a jack of all trades shape.Sensor:Tracking on the mouse is flawless. LOD is low like on all 3360 sensors. There is no acceleration or imperfections whatsoever. To test out a sensor I like to go into an empty map in CS, shoot some holes at a certain wall or spot, and then make swiping motions to and away from this spot. If the mouse overshoots this spot on the way back then that is how you know there is some built in acceleration. With the s1 I always landed right back to where I was, most of the time dead on. There is also no lag or delay, as soon as you move the mouse the cursor moves with you. If you come to this mouse from an older 3310 sensor you will 100% feel the improvement.Materials/Clicks/wheel/misc:The sides of the mouse are a textured plastic without any coating. This works well as it is not slippery. Meanwhile the top is a very rubbery blue (paint?). Whatever this material on top is it feels really nice as others have reported. The switches are OMRON 20 million lifecount switches, and on my unit there is no pretravel or any looseness. Similar story on the side buttons but I don’t think the side buttons are using the 20 million count omrons, however they still feel great. The skates on my unit could h ave been positioned better, I had to adjust them myself to get the mouse to glide smoothly on my qck. Cable is heavy, rigid, and can be shaped to however you want. It doesn’t “flow” freely like thinner more flexible cables, but the ability to position a more rigid cable how you wish is actually not bad. The mousewheel is extremely light to scroll, and you don’t feel the indents/steps as much as you would with other mice. This is both good and bad, really depends on the game you are playing, and your preference here.Quality:I was prepared for the quality of the mouse to be poor, but so far I have not had any problems other than my Teflon skates being slightly out of position. I can not speak for the long term durability of the s1, and this is something you will always have to look out for. Conclusion:I was very pleasantly surprised by the s1 seeing as how I had a lot of doubts going into it. As long as I don’t run into any quality issues in the future I am very happy with it. Good job to Finalmouse for making an esports tailored mouse that actually performs.

Awesome mouse, until you realize that the QC issues for it are unfortunately real.
Despite all the negativity this particular mouse has gotten, I went ahead and got it anyway. My only uneasy feeling is wondering if a "Third Edition" would be released. All the "Second Edition" stands for is the same initial mouse released with updated firmware (which you can flash for yourself). Granted, that makes anyone skeptic about throwing $70 on a gaming mouse. But I got it anyway. Bottom line? It's an excellent mouse! That's until you realize that the QC issues are real. Yes, it's a small company. But I have gotten more QC plagued mice from Logitech and Razer that it couldn't get any worse with this mouse. Or could it? SEE UPDATE BELOW OF WHY I WENT FROM A 4 STAR RATING TO A 1 STAR.PROS-Fantastic sensor-For an ambi-hybrid mouse, it feels great-Crisp tactile M1/M2 buttons-Side buttons are pleasant too-LIGHT, good gawd this mouse is light for all the plastic it's encased inCONS-The M1/M2 buttons feel like Huano switches, they're that stiff-If you go in with the mindset of Omron switches, you'll be thrown off and swear that these are Huanos-No DPI indicator to tell you what DPI setting you're on. At least the DPI switch is on the top, not the bottom (cough cough, ZOWIE, cough)Overall: Despite all the negativity, this mouse is really good. Coming from a G403 that used to be my daily driver, that's saying a lot. It's bad too it had a bad rap during initial launch. I get it. Delay after delay after delay followed by the infamous ghosting issue. And also, there was that weird "if you slam the mouse hard enough, the M1 button will trigger!" - I'm sorry, but I barely ever pick up my mouse so the "slamming the mouse triggering a button" issue wasn't something that affected me. Give it a shot. I personally think it is quite a great mouse. My aiming has definitely improved. It's only the switches that I had to get used to. It was like reverting back to a Zowie mouse again with the stiff clicks.UPDATE - 3/29/2017: I've had this mouse for less than 24 hours and ALREADY, I'm experiencing some issues with this mouse. Let's start with the scroll wheel. No, it's not the bug you think it is, it's the fact that the scroll wheel will randomly dislodge itself towards the RMB. I almost never use the scroll wheel (I play mainly Battlefield games) but I didn't really notice this until I felt my RMB being very difficult to actuate. I usually click my RMB to toggle aim down sights but this time, it was a lot stiffer to click than usual. Why? The scroll wheel had to be "clicked" back into place so it would be centered so it wouldn't get in the way of the RMB. Wow. Once you discover how loose the scroll wheel is, you'll notice how it wobbles to the right (at least my copy did) and "gets in the way" of the RMB. Thankfully, Amazon's return policy is very good. I really wanted to like this mouse. But now, I realize that all the negativity and nightmare stories about this mouse are true. Geez FinalMouse, why?

The mouse is good, but not good enough
The mouse is good, but not good enough.Pros:The mouse is light, which makes it good to move around. The mouse fits in my hand perfectly. (I have big to medium size hands) Feels better than EC1-A, which is my current mouse.Seems like all the fixes they made since first edition had came out had been resolved. The scroll wheel feels amazing. It does what it suppose to do. It's fast and smooth. The optical sensor is simply amazing. Smooth 1:1 movement.Cons:Lift pads on the bottom are sharp and kind of hinders smooth movement. The switches on the mouse seems a lot hard for me to press to register a input. Reminds me of having blue mechanical switches on a mouse.Updating firmware was bit confusing, but do-able.Summary:It's a good mouse if it's your first. The switches on the mouse clicks remind me of my Rival 300 mouses. I like fast response, light clicks. I've found that in my Zowie mouse EC1-A. I hate the fact that lift off pads on the bottom of the mouse are 4 pieces that are on each corner of the mouse and are sharp. That's probably my biggest turn off and the preference of the mouse switches that I prefer.
