In 1981 Povl Kjer made his first Rocking Sheep for his niece as a humorous reminder of her country roots. From the start he called it a Rocking Sheep, and over time it has become a furniture classic which is sold all over the world being connected to Scandinavian style. The design is still the same and the first Rocking Sheep are still rocking, now with a new generation of children.
