They were already sharpened. Some tips were broken. Some lead was not centered in the pencil well which makes them hard to sharpen correctly. Average. Doubt I would order again. Box they arrived in was sooo strongly scented that the pencils had to be put in my garage to air out for 3 days before using.

I am happy with these pencils, especially for doing carpentry / drywall work. It is so convenient to have both colors on one pencil. I use the red for thc cut sides and the blue for the piece I am keeping

These are a great value for the money. Love that there are 2 sharpeners. I can put one in my briefcase and one in my desk.
