Connect the old to the new
Easy to use. Connect old devices to HDMI only TVs. I connect an old portable standard def dvd player from 07 to hotel TVs when i travel with the kids. ONly issue is the very short mini USB cable used to power the adapter. your tv maybe a ble to power it if its USB enabled or you need to use your USB AC adapter that you use with your phone or tablet. the short length doesnt give you much play. most newer devices are using micro USB instead of mini, so you may not have a longer mini USB cable on hand.

Works Great
I used this converter to run my older DVD player that didn't have a HDMI input on the back. Once I connected the unite up to may receiver it was working great. Just remember that you have to have a USB input jack on the back of you receiver in order for this converter to work.

Didn't work for me
I bought this device because my new tv only has HDMI plugs. I hooked my Wii up to this device (red, white, and yellow cables in the respective plugs) and used the HDMI cable provided and hooked that up to the tv. I did not get any picture or sound. Wii is on and tv is on the correct input screen and my tv doesn't not even recognize the Wii. This one must have been a dud. I am requesting a refund.
