Kotobukiya Zoids: RZ-030 Gun Sniper W2 Plastic Model Kit, Multicolor

If you’re anything like me, you remember begging your parents to buy you the motorized ZOIDS model kits back in the 2000’s.Well, this is not those. Don’t get me wrong— this is still a fantastic kit, but the parts are a bit more brittle than the Hasbro models that I remember from back in the day.I’d recommend getting some tools to remove some of the thinner parts because there were several times I tried to do so by carefully rocking the pieces back and forth to remove them from the frame and the piece itself would often start to bend. (I never had that problem before from what I recall and I have small steady hands.)In any case, as mentioned, there’s no motor. These are static decorative models. Which is totally fine! I just wanted to mention that in case anyone also thought these were the very same ones that could walk. They’re not.Nonetheless, the kits are very nice, the instructions are mostly easy to follow; You just have to be a bit careful with some of the parts. In fact, I accidentally broke two different parts while building this so far…Based on what I’ve put together at this moment and time, I may even recommend getting glue for some of the non-articulated parts as some of them seem to snap together really well while others… not as much. I’ve had to lightly file some of the pieces and really be precise.Anyway, if any of this sounds like I don’t like it, don’t worry I do for the most part. Haha. I just wanted to highlight some of the things that stood out to me. It’s not as durable as I expected: All in all, I’d give it 3 stars.
