What would I have done without my Haakaa?
This handy little pump made all the difference to me during my final weeks of maternity leave. It is small but mighty. So easy to use and maintain and the clean up -- the clean up! -- is a breeze. I used this in the final month of my leave to collect letdown from my other breast while LO nursed on one side. The suction holds well and I was so surprised at how much this collects. After LO nursed I would massage to manually express more. Loved this pump so much I stopped using the electric pump in my efforts to collect a stash because of how easy and quick it was to use and clean this thing. It's small and portable and works so well for a quick collection or an on-the-go low-maintenance pumping session. That said, may not be ideal for an exclusive pumper. Maybe as a supplemental pump but not for the main deal as it is more time-consuming if you use it to strictly pump. I used this to help create my stash in preparation for returning to work and ended up building more than half of my freezer supply using just my Haakaa alone! Ingenious in its simplicity! Would make a great gift to a first-time mom who plans to breastfeed and return to work.

amazing. I didn't think so in the beginning but ...
amazing . I didn't think so in the beginning but that was because i didn't know how to use it. But once i did it was a game changer. Made Nursing go so much faster (especially if you pump after each feed) Even pumping was so much more rewarding. I would put the haakaa on one side and pump the other and by the time i would have 3 onces on one side the Haakaa was almost full. (i had the 5oz) Only thing that changed was the bigger my little one got i had to only use Haakaa when i was pumping because she would try and grab it and you mom know WE CRY OVER SPILLED MILK lol . But she is 8 months now and thanks to Haakaa i have a deep freezer full of milk.

This is a breast pumping secret everyone should know about!!
I can’t believe my son is 6 weeks old and I just found it about this. I wish I would have had this when my milk first came in. I have a lot of milk and a pretty strong let down, but honestly I am so done cleaning my hand and electrical pumps. This Haakaa pump is amazing. My morning feeding I got 6.5 ounces (used on each side while nursing opposite) I have never gotten that much ever with my other pumps in one session. It was tricky to figure out (make sure you pull the cone inside out- look at YouTube for accurate videos). But once I had it on I was fairly confident my baby wouldn’t kick it off (and he didn’t) within 10 minutes it was half full. This thing is amazing. I also feel like it is applying even pressure around my breast and will help to avoid plugged ducts- don’t quote me, just my personal feelings.I don’t know why they don’t hand these out at the hospital. Cheap and SO EASY TO CLEAN! (Also it is safe to sterilize in the medela bags). I might even get a second one so I can do both sides at the same time when I return to work. This is seriously a breastfeeding secret I wish everyone knew about!!Note: I am an exclusive breast feeder and my pumped milk is for when I return to work in a few weeks. I don’t know if this would work for regular pumping sessions, but definitely is helpful for the big morning milk.

Absolutely Essential for Breastfeeding!!
When a pregnant mom asks "what do I need", I always say if you plan to breastfeed, get a Haakaa!I have been using a Haakaa since the first week of my breastfeeding journey. I use it everytime I nurse on the opposite side. Once my supply regulated around 4 weeks in, I typically get 1.5-3 ounces each use and average 11-13 ounces a day when I'm at home nursing and not at work. Easiest. Ounces. Ever!!During my 12 week maternity leave I was able to get milk for 1-2 bottles a day for my husband to help out AND get 400+ ounces saved in my freezer!! Without having to use my pump! Now that my baby is sleeping longer at night, sometimes I will use the Haakaa to relief the pressure, which is so much more convenient at 3am to use a Haakaa for 5 minutes than pull my pump out, put it together, pump, clean-up, pack it back up for work, etc.I don't know where I would be in my BF journey without a Haakaa and I am SO grateful a friend of mine suggested it to me when I was pregnant.I actually have more than one Haakaa because it's just so convenient! I do prefer this one to my other one because this has a larger storage capacity and also seems to have a better suction due to its size. Also, I love the base, won't tip over! Super easy to use, clean, etc. Just buy it and good luck with your breastfeeding journey!

No Suction after Two Months
I've used this less than once per day for less than two months and already there is no suction. I don't understand how this is even possible...if the material degraded, if the top part weakened or isn't as stiff, I'm really not sure. But it is no longer any use to me because it cannot suction onto the breast anymore. It just falls off immediately. It was great for the first several weeks, but not worth the price if its already uselessUpdate: tried working with Haakaa USA customer service and they were very difficult, basics didn't care or stand behind the product. They were unwilling to offer an exchange or refund or anything whatsoever despite the very limited life if this product, and they acted like it couldn't possibly be a problem on their end.

useful for just about any nursing mom situation
Great for pumping while feeding. There's no motor to create a disruptive sound, so it is perfect to use while nursing on the other side. The suction cup is useful since it keeps it from tipping over while on a table. If you're not a full time/consistent pumper, I'd recommend getting one of these over a powered pump. If you pump more often, I also recommend getting one of these as a good back up AND as a gentle way to get into a pumping routine. If you get engorged, this is also handy to have around since there is no equipment to set up before you use it. Stick it on and go.
