Masterplug BOG5-MP Single Socket Long Extension Lead, 5 Metres, 13 Amp, White

Purchased as a ‘Masterplug’ product, and supplied very quickly by ‘BulbsTubes’ (Amazon Marketplace), but there is no brand identification on the cable supplied and I doubt very much that this is a genuine product especially as it does not match the product photograph. No invoice/delivery note was enclosed which should have confirmed the product ordered.After a couple of weeks use with a vacuum cleaner it was necessary to open up the socket to tighten up the pin sockets as the cleaner cable was not held securely and would just pull out under the slightest pressure. Just as well that I did so as the screws securing the cables were very loose and the live cable screw appeared to not have been tightened up at all when manufactured. In addition the small cover securing screws do not provide adequate security and have needed to be replaced with something more robust.It does the job but is not a product that I would recommend.If you order this product and it is not evident that it is a genuine ‘Masterplug’ return it to Amazon. If enough are returned maybe Amazon will do something about this practice.

Electronic manufacturers are getting more stingy with their power cords and appliances, and when I purchased a new microwave a few months ago, I could not position it anywhere where it was quite able to plug into a socket. This was a cheap and easy to install fix, and I'm happy with it. My only gripe is it would be helpful if it had been available with different lengths of cord, as I could have done with it being a bit shorter, but other than that I am completely happy with my purchase.

There isn’t a great deal to be said about this kind of item-it either works or it doesn’t.Happy to report that mine works fine ! The cable is more than long enough for the required job, the cable is sturdy and not likely to break, and since putting it in place I haven’t experienced any problems with it.

Product is otherwise OK and works as intended, the only issue is that this product is not manufactured by Masterplug, instead it is manufactured by Pifco. Therefore the product description needs to be revised.

I don't know how to rate this properly as I adapted this for use in America for someone else so an American plug and socket were fitted to the cable, replacing the British plug ang socket that were fitted. Additionaly this review asks for a rating for 'Storage Capacity', it doesn't have a storage capacity, so that doesn't seem to be relevant. The cable, socket and plug seemed sturdy and capable of doing the job,
