The Moughul Empire continues
Rutherford continues with the history of the Moghuls and the way they influence India today. Although largely fiction based on fact the series makes for interesting reading and I hope makes the reader want to do some research of India during this period. I would have liked to give the book 5 stars, but I feel the author is now repeating a style which occurs when writing 5 volumes. Other writers who have written this type of semi historical works fall into the same trap. I wll look forward to the next valume.Hal Oliver

2nd Book a Hit!!!
Wow. This book was so much better than the 1st in every way. The content was exciting, the writing was descriptive and pulled you in. It took me 6 months to read the first, took me 4 days to read the 2nd because it was that engrossing. I said I would tell you if this book dropped off or exceeded, the author has hit his stride and I look forward to the next book eagerly.Humayun life was a roller coaster, 1st you rooted for him, then he's an idiot, then a loser, then a tragic figure and then.........The battles were an improvement from the previous book but still not amazing but everything else is A+.

Excellent starter book on Moguls
Easy reading. Historically accurate but does fill in details that would in fact be unknowable. As a result it reads more like a novel. They were a remarkable people.

You would love it. Mughal history at it's best
Must read the entire set by Alex Rutherford. You would love it. Mughal history at it's best. But be careful about duplication. They are selling the same matter in different names. Avoid hard -bound copies.

Same book as Brothers At War, Still an excellent read
Made a visit to the British Library to view the Mogul exhibition and bought the title Brothers At War, one part of a quintet of books by the same authors. Having read that had to get the other four, purchased A Kingdom Divided. However readers need to know that The kingdom Divided is the same book as Brothers At War, slightly different presentation, same narrative, different publisher.Still an excellent read, also reveals authors true identity.

Wake up, Amazon!
There is still no warning that this is the American edition of what in the UK was titled "Brothers at War". This is essential information. I too bought the book only to realize I already had it.
