BabishCast Iron Everyday Pan, 13-Inch

I purchased this product and It's been 2 weeks and used this 4 times.I like this product design, size and quality.I used this for BBQ grilling and fried rice cooking for my family. It sustains heat well overall and I could make crispy overcooked rice. 2~3 times seasoning might be required before you use this product.I'm pretty satisfied with this product so far.Thanks.

First let me answer the question I had. The inside bottom flat is 11-1/4”. Including the radiuses corners, it’s 12” across the bottom from interior side to side. 13” is the top exterior measurement. Top interior for fitting a lid is 12-1/2”.With that out-of-the-way let me tell you what I think about the pan. It’s cast-iron and the interior is rough like most modern cast-iron cookware. That said, I resurface the interior using a strip disk I got for eight dollars at Home Depot. 20 minutes with my cordless drill in the interior was much, much smoother. I’ve been re-seasoned it with Flaxseed oil three times. See the photos for before, sanded, and seasoned. I used it tonight for the first time and I love this pan! It’s big enough for a family of four. The side wall is steeper than a skillet so you can work a spatula against it without pushing food out. The wall thickness is good. Not too thick, not too thin. Stovetop to oven use was seamless. I would buy a second one, though I don’t need it, actually I still might!Update 3/19/24. This review is for the Babish Cast Iron Everyday Pan, 13-Inch. I saw it on Prime Day and said to myself "For the price what can go wrong?" I'm so glad I did. This pan fills the gaps in my cooking arsenal for a very good price. I like cooking with cast iron because of the heat distro, but you have to maintain cast iron cookware or it will rust. Seems like a lot of people do not understand how to do that. I do, but this has some coating on it that seems to prevent the rusting that so many people seem to experience when they do not season their pans correctly or maintain that seasoning by washing the pans in soapy water, or soaking them in soapy water, which is even worse for a cast iron pan. I have only had this pan for about 45 days but so far it is trouble-free and I have used it several times. So far, no sticking, no rust, no other issues. Clean up is a breeze with this pan. I have to say that for the price it is a very good pan.

Love this Pan. It was exactly what I was looking for to make Chicago style home made deep dish pizza, Paella and some other uses. I did note that this pre-seasoned cast iron pan needed a little more seasoning. Although I very readily put aside this minor fault for the excellent price and otherwise excellent craftsmanship. So my suggestion to the buyer of this pan is to wash it in warm dish water, wipe it dry, then place it into the over at 350F for one hour to dry it (and it’s metal pores). Place a trivet or oven mit on the countertop and let it cool. Then wipe a couple table spoons (max) of vegetable oil onto the interior walls and over the pan bottom. Place in a 350F oven for 1 hour and then turn off the heat. Let it cool down in the oven. Do this again the next day or when you have time. Tell yah what, that deep dish pizza came out great and no problem getting it out of the pan or sticking. Wash it in warm, not hot water, dry it in the oven ….it should serve you well for a life time.

Bought this as a present for my daughter. She needed a pan for corn bread and this fit the bill. Little did i know she would use it on the stove top and in the oven, roasts, pancakes, sausage and many other dishes. She said it was a great gift.

This is by far the best cast iron pan I've ever used. Holds temperature very well, extremely well built and the longest handle you will ever see on cast iron. The quality is A+ This pan will last a lifetime!

This pan is excellent. Straight sided, around 2 inches deep (maybe a little more) and beats Lodge any day. I seasoned 3 times over factory seasoning before use. I use it for stirfry, steaks, chicken, cooks 6 slices of thick cut bacon in 5 minutes tops. Bottom did not warp and rise in the middle. It is 13" all around so it fit my generic 30 year old sink fine but i guess it may be troublesome for smaller sinks. The best thing I found is 13" is top diameter as well as bottom. This will last a very long time. I cook everything in it. Just takes a little vegetable oil re-seasoning after each use. I did my research and thought it's worth a try and i'm very pleased this is the pan i bought. A little pricey but sure worth it. And of course because it's cast iron it's heavy but all cast iron cookware is. I bought it a couple of months ago and have been consistently using it and i haven't regretted it. There are reviews on amazon.com and they were all 5 stars and that's what i went with.

Well made with good size and surface. But it doesn't distribute heat very well. We end up burning at the centre and uncooked at the edge...

Great skillet. Came with a decent seasoning and has only gotten better with the more cooking I’ve done. Highly recommend

Easy to clean and no handles so it fits in our apartment size oven well!
