My old one lasted 25 years
Yeah, cut my hair with this thing for 25 years and I'm finally buying my second one. To be fair, I'm meticulous about sharp edged tools tho. My 8 pack of disposable twin blades is 3 years old and I've still got one left.

Not that easy to use, limited guidance
The product works as described, but for an item that has been around for so many years, it is lacking in refinements. Much more product instruction would be helpful, without relying on amateur internet video postings. The product features such as spacer design and single color, lack of numbering, difficult lock tabs, etc., made it more difficult to use than should be necessary for something around this long.

The Gestalt is greater than the sum of its parts
I have now owned 2 of these and was shocked to see the high price asked for the system which is really the hose and clippers, the power source can be found for 10-20$. I have 2 now and 2 sets of plastic pieces which cannot be more than $5 to make. I am older, not a hair perfectionist by any means and keep my hair a little on the longer side. In the past 10 years I have found just 2 cosmetologist who understand my admonition, less is More. This system allows one to keep one from getting scalped. However I only use every 3-4 weeks and have wintered in Florida since 2013 and never take the system with me. The issue is the cam or in a sense torque converter getting stuck. I called and was told to slap it hard to get it loose but for the past year I had to use a screwdriver to move the blades 1/16 of an inch and then it would run. I oiled the blades before and after hoping it would help. This last time it would run in spurts so I do not know if it is a loose wire in the hose as once the blades gain speed they have always worked fine. Note It does not take me but a couple minutes to cut my hair. I saw I can buy direct another hose. I will first try my older power sourceAs it runs near$100 but way under this overvalued offer. UPDATE my box label says 2006 so my power box lasted 18 years. I found my original power adapter and the blades worked as they should. We will see how long this works. I admit I was surprised it was the power transformer and not the hose assembly. Kudos for Flowbee

But make sure you also get the FlowBee vacuum which is made for this haircutter. The hose plugs directly into the FlowBee vacuum without any adapter, and is small, lightweight and very powerful. Its not sold on Amazon but it is available if you search the market - just bought one Feb 2018.
