Great Illustrations
Great Illustrations. The ending was a liitle surprizing(what happened 200 years later thanks to the red lemon).

There's SO much you can take away from this simple story!
I am going to use this book in a lesson about author's, character's and reader's points of view but it is also going to make great science connections for us (because the red lemon is tossed to an island where it establishes a new colony. We've talked about biodiversity and adaptations.). It is also a wonderful lesson in accepting differences and the benefits of being your own kind of lemon! ;-)

Great little book
Great little book, cute rhymes, cute story. my son, who just turned 3, has it memorized and "reads" it to us everyday. Farmer McPhee runs the lemon orchard, one day finds a lemon that is red instead of yellow and throws it, it grows into a grove of red lemon trees that produce sweeter fruit than their counterpart and, "now people travel cross oceans and seas to eat the sweet fruit from the red lemon trees"
