Would it be secure with 3M tape instead of using the screws?

I would suggest using the screws provided. The 3M tape would probably hold but I wouldn't trust my Ipad on it.

Is there a template for the ipad pro 11” model available. i bought the product. the template has a bunch of ipads but not 11 pro

Would it mount a 16" screen?

Qualified "probably". The two brackets are separate pieces so they can be moved independently of one another. Theoretically it could hold a tiny 7" tablet or a big ol' 12" tablet. The caveat, however, is the thickness of the tablet. The tablet slides into the mount from the side. I'm using mine to hold a first gen iPad Air which has a thickness of 7.5mm and it's a pretty tight fit. If your tablet is more than that you may have difficulty sliding the tablet into the mounted brackets, assuming it would fit at all. iPads generally fall between around 6-9.5mm on the thickness scale (with the old-school original iPad at a hefty 13.4mm) so I'd be wary if you have a thicker tablet.

I want to mount this in a small space between windows where the width is only 3.5 inches. Is the mount on this too wide for that space?

The mount is only about 1''-1.5'' thick, it should be able to fit in a space 3.5'' wide.
