An attractive, large hei matau.
There are a lot of versions of this necklace around, obviously. There are a lot of cheaper ones around made of plastic, bone or horn. I wanted one that was attractively carved from pounamu, like one I had been given as a gift, but not as expensive and irreplaceable.I'm partial to this classic shape, without extra adornments and engravings. Just a smooth, shiny fish hook. I like this particular one's size. I wear it often for luck.

Beautiful, but tangly
Gorgeous, well built, and stylish. The ropes twist a lot, and it's a lot darker than in the picture.
