inexpensive fix
Compared to the well over a hundred dollars for the same unit from the manufacuter. This unit is a steal. The instructions were well meaning but hard to decifer. I was surprised they were even included. I applied the foam and pressed it down. Thats it. Not perfect. But when I turned it on it worked perfectly and quietly.

Well worth the price, but be aware of a potential ground isolation issue
This seems to be well built with good bracing, strong metal, and ball bearings instead of sleeves. The fan is quiet, it turns easily, and blows an adequate amount of air for my space. I was planning to add a speed control to minimize noise, but it isn't needed with this kit.I removed the access plate at the bottom of my Superior gas fireplace insert and this fan fit right into the hole with no problem at all and plenty of space to work in. The tabs lined up within an eighth inch and hold the fan in place securely. There was no need to remove the front of my fireplace assembly and try to install this fan from the front and I was able to do the installation without having to disconnect my propane line to the fireplace. My only issue is with the power cord installation. The cord quality is fine, as are the pre-installed connectors, however, there is no tab to plug the short ground wire onto. I cut off the connector, installed a crimp ring, and mounted it under the convenient plastic cord clamp that came screwed onto the frame near the motor connections. I added a new wire and crimp ring under this ground wire before tightening the screw. If you do this, make sure the crimp rings directly contact the frame metal when you screw it back down. The fan includes stick on pads that provide noise and vibration isolation when the fan is running. They aren't particularly sticky, allowing you to adjust the fan placement. (Once you bend the two mounting tabs, the fan will stay in place). However, they also isolate the metal fan frame (where the AC wires and ground from the plug are connected) from the fireplace frame. I added the extra wire to the fan frame, installed a crimp ring on the open end, and screwed it down to the fireplace frame floor beside the fan with a short metal screw to make sure the fan, fireplace frame, and house grounding system were all connected together. Otherwise, the frame has an open ground and has the potential to be energized independently. This isnβt an absolutely necessary modification to make, but I recommended making it for safety purposes.Installation of the fan took about 45 minutes. Adding the ground connections and wire took about 20 minutes. Both were easy to do.

Wouldn't Fit!
DISLIKED!It would not fit. I could not install in my Lennox gas fireplace. The diagonal dimension was greater than the height of compart under the firebox. This prevented me from rotating 90Β° as describe in the install video. Less than ONE STAR!
