We got this as part of a skin care set. My daughters are 10 & 12 years old. They are big into makeup but not so much on the washing and caring for their skin. This set is a great way to introduce skin care to them. The products smell great and leave their skin feeling refreshed and bright. I like that they are mild and made responsibly with no harsh chemicals - safe for young skin & eyes. The face wash foams up well and rinses clean away. The lotion is light, smells fresh and leaves their skin refreshed & hydrated but no greasy. The spot treatment is great - effective and quick acting. Very nice products.

Unfortunately it didn’t work for my 10 yr old daughter. She developed rashes on her face.

Let me start by saying that I ordered the entire 3 step system of the DermaKids line. My son is 13 and was breaking out in horrible acne, plus he was making it worse picking and popping everything. This skincare routine is EVERYTHING for him, it has made an unbelievable difference and quickly. Within days, his acne was almost gone and his skin looked amazing. The lotion in particular is the last of the 3 steps, the "sealer/conditioner", and has a light fresh scent and is a cream that goes on light and smooth without leaving your skin sticky, greasy or dry. A little goes a long way and it leaves your skin soft and moisturized. We absolutely recommend this as well as the rest of the line, and have already recommended it to several others.

DermaKids Gentle Facial Moisturizer for Sensitive SkinThis lotion works well for dehydrated skin but probably isn't one that I would reach for since the main ingredients are squalane and glycerin. It also has Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract that is known in Chinese medicine for antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. It does an excellent job for sensitive skin and does contain alcohol which helps the other ingredients penetrate. That evaporates quickly. I would really prefer a lotion that doesn't include it though. I've been using this nightly, and my skin feels great. I break out easily, but I also flake easily. This really adds a lot of moisture without breaking me out.It works very well as a primer, too. My skin looked very smooth and almost poreless when I use it in the morning under foundation.Smells good. I'm going to try the whole kit. I know it'sfor teens, but I'm an older adult-- it works for me and I would buy again.

Product: Dermakids Gentle Facial MoisturizerI confess that I got this for myself because I really needed a gentle non-comedogenic moisturizer that was actually moisturizing. My problem is that the average non-comedogenic moisturizer is either not moisturizing at all or increased blackheads (but not other blemishes). This is moderately rich and does NOT increase blackheads. And my kids use it too. Liked it so much, went back and got more. It is unscented and absorbs quickly. Leaves my face feeling very smooth. I am not in the target demographic for this product, but I am someone who has struggled with ultra-sensitive skin for my entire life. It's proven to be nearly impossible to find a moisturizer that works but doesn't irritate my skin.At this point, after using this for a couple of weeks, it hasn't caused breakouts or any kind of negative reaction. So it gets very high marks in that regard, as does the fact that this product isn't fragranced.This is a very thin lotion that spreads easily and sinks into the skin relatively quickly. It does impart a tiny bit of moisture, and that's both good and bad: it's good during, say, warmer months when not a lot of moisture is needed. It's not so great during times when the skin needs a lot of hydration and soothing simply because this doesn't do much in those regards.I do think that this would be great for kids; in fact, I wish it had been around when I was a teenager. It's also good for adults who have sensitive skin and are only looking for a little bit of added moisture.
