Designed with classic images from scientific disciplines, these notebooks are built to ignite your curiosity. Ideas aren't meant to be all cramped up. The Hypothesis series comes with 192 of our signature split-use pages so your ideas have plenty of room. While developing this notebook series we polled more than 4000 notebook fanatics and determined that split-use pages provides a unique way to work with ideas--as a spread. Having paper for sketching, problem solving, or data gathering on one side and lines on the other means that the right side can be used for taking notes or longer writing passages, with the left side reserved for annotations and illustrations. Treat each pair of pages as a single space to let your thoughts run free. All of our notebook covers are designed by our small company in Portland, OR! We decided to make this notebook line because we were tired of notebooks with boring covers. For each design we dive through tons of classic scientific texts, scouring for the most stunning illustrations. We then build them into a collage that celebrates the beauty of the natural world--and the scientific process. Lastly, we work with amazing overseas partners who build us these top quality hardcover notebooks. We believe that as you read, study, attend lecture, or conduct research, your understanding of the material and your world deepens, becoming more nuanced and perhaps a little more elegant. The time you spend in the lab, the library or at your desk at home is worth respecting. We designed these notebooks as a beautiful place to archive your ideas. Take pride in everything you learn, record your brilliant thoughts, and respect your passion.

Classy and Good Quality
This notebook was a little slow to grow on me. But, I loved the cover and have ordered several more notebooks from this company with other covers. It just looks "sciency." But, I didn't buy more because of the cover. This notebook features good paper. It takes my fountain pen well. I've been switching up fountain pens a lot as I use it just for the sake of a good trial. Some have a bit of ghosting, but no real bleed through. So it is good for that purpose.I really like the combination of graph paper and lined paper. I would prefer dot paper and marked lines (with little lines like the dot paper so you can use it to graph as well as write), but I can work with this. The lines and graph are light enough that they fade into the background after you write. It's a good combination for combining text, graphics, and actual graphs. There is even a ribbon for marking your page.Pages are not numbered and there is no table of contents, but these were not promised anyway. It's easy enough to make one if desired. My biggest complaint is that it feels a bit pricey for what it is. Still, that didn't dissuade me from buying two more!

Looks cool but unjustifiably expensive.
Nice notebook. The pages are a little thinner than I would prefer but I use Staedtler Triplus Fineliner Pens and they don't bleed through. It looses two stars for lacking table of contents and page numbers. Seems well made but I expected better paper quality for the price. Vela Advanced Softcover Lab Notebook is much higher quality at less than half the price.Bottom line: Not a bad notebook but if you don't care what the cover looks like, there a much better notebooks for much less money.
