Bright Source 3117 18.5" Lamp with 52 oz Globe, Navy

I ordered two, one green and one blue. The green one is perfect. It’s clear and the wax moves freely like you’d expect it to. Awesome product, great price. The blue one is being returned. I have followed the instructions and have given it a couple of weeks to prove itself. The wax barely moves. Maybe one glob of wax will float in a 30 minute timeframe. The blue water looks black, from lack of churning I suppose. Hopefully I will get a replacement sent out when they receive the original back in the mail. I hope I can get a blue one that works because the green one is just too cool!

Got the green w/white wax version. Unlike some reissue lava lamps this one is very solid, the real deal. Every bit as substantial, maybe more, than the majority of the ones made in the 70's. The glass is heavy and just sits in the top of the metal base, and the top cap just sits loosely on the top so this isn't a lamp you just grab and move without being careful. Not sure I'd have this around young children, but that caveat would go for any heat generating electric gadget I suppose. As far as heat, it does get hot but not hot to the point of being worrisome. I remember the old ones you could cook an egg on and there was always a chance you'd burn down your pachoulli filled hippy room. Even though this one seems a lot better in that regard the instructions do say not to leave it on more than 10 hours at a time. It also says not to place on a glass surface which is a bummer because my end table I had planned to use this with is a glass top. Overall though this is a good product, not the usual run of the mill junk. Get a shade for it, looks bizarre without one, or put one of those reproduction Edison type filament bulbs in there. Would buy again.

Sold Separately: Bright Source 3114 White Lamp Shade, White ... looks nice, fits lava table lamp base. Its not too large or small. Practical because it is also a 60 Watt lamp. Also got the silver glitter lamp with gold base. Really looks nice!!! You can have just the table lamp on or just the lava lamp on or both on at the same time!

My daughter wanted a night light so I thought it would be a neat idea to get her a lava lamp. What we received looks nothing like the picture on Amazon or on the box. I ordered a blue one and the one we received has red water with green wax. Also, the base gets so hot that if you touch it for more than a few seconds you’ll get burned.

This product looks so cool to turn on the lamp and the light you just switch the upper switch nob like a normal lamp. I which they added a knob like they did with the older littler model. I also wished they made a medium model so i can swap out my 14.5 size lava lamps that they have for sell for cheap in place and switch up the mood.The bad....This lamp has so many improfections in the globe its horrible. This may not be the case for yours but quality control is so bad for these lava lamps. The blue lava is blue on the bottom and red orange when it floats to the top very cool looking but for me the glass improfections ruined this experience.

This green LavaLite lamp-lamp is very cool. It is a quality, substantial lamp. I added a coordinating shade and gave it to my son for his first apartment. It is the focal point of his living room. He loves it. Me too :)

I bought the glitter version of this lamp and absolutely love the look of it. It's beautiful and perfect for my desk, allowing me to set it for glitter only, lamp only, or both at the same time.I bought a 10-inch harp (it doesn't come with one, only the saddle) and a matching finial online (also not included), then topped it with the Aspen Creative 31114 Transitional Hardback Drum (Cylinder) Shaped Spider Construction Lamp Shade in White, 8" wide (8" x 8" x 11"), sold on Amazon. I've included a photo. I tried to post a video, but for some reason Amazon didn't like that and wouldn't let me post with it attached. In the photo, both the base and upper lamp bulbs are on.The only issue I have with it is that the base gets very, very warm very quickly, so much so that I've decided to put a trivet underneath to protect my desk top, just in case. I also don't leave it running unless someone's in the room. I'm not sure it's dangerously warm, but I'm thinking of trying a lower wattage bulb in the base to reduce the heat output. I'd kind of like the glitter to move a bit more slowly anyway.

Second lamp we have purchased. Bought the first one at a local store and decided we wanted a second one. It is perfect for our adult daughters basement area.
