First of all my computer wouldn't recognize the product because it had the wrong region code for the U.S. I had to look up how to fix this. Unfortunately I can't post the link on how in this review, but it is pretty easy to look up and do. After that I discovered that unless you have a paid upgrade, Windows Media Player will not work for external drives. Luckily it works with my Mac just fine, now that the code is changed, without any additional purchases, however I will not be using it for my Dell, which was the primary reason for wanting it.

I do not like anything about this. It more often than fails to be detected when attached to Lenovo when booting up. It also fails to be detected when plugged into Lenovo after the PC is booted. Even when detected it often does not write the image properly to my CD-ROM. Initially, for the first month is worked off and on. When it does work, it is much slower than built-in CD-DVD ROM.

This DVD RW works perfectly! It was so easy to set up. Just Plug and Play! As soon I connected the usb port, my computer immideately read the item and it started working. I put in a Dvd in and was very impressed the picture was clear and perfect. This external drive is so light weight and very portable.
