My favorite chocolates... after all these years!
A few years ago, my husband and I travelled to Germany and stayed in a quaint inn in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Every night, we'd receive one of these chocolates on our pillow. We fell in love with them. It has taken us all these years to be able to get them here in the USA. I've now ordered 3 bags and decided, it's time to go all in and order a MUCH larger quantity. Anytime we have company, we always finish with one of these delicious chocolates. They are so simple and ordinary but so delicious and resonate such beautiful memories to us. I'm grateful to be able to get these wonderful chocolates using Amazon. Above all, these are my most favorite chocolates in the world.

OK but Moritz is better
I first had Eiskonfekt made by Moritz on a visit to Germany in the late '90s and it quickly became my favorite chocolate. I learned that they don't ship overseas because of how easily they melt, and that the "Ice Cubes" that are made by Moritz for North America aren't as good; they are harder and not as flavorful (and don't have a variety of flavors like the ones I had in Germany). I was able to get them sometimes from German eBay sellers willing to ship to the U.S. in the winter, but stopped trying when after a few years all of the listings would only ship to Europe.Recently I decided to look for them again on eBay and found some made by Moritz and sold by a U.S. seller, which I bought. Then an Amazon window popped up for this Eiskonfekt by Eichetti. I ordered it as well, thinking maybe they were the same thing or a branch of the same company. So now that I have them both, I have done a couple of taste tests and I can emphatically say that the Moritz are better. They are softer and have a better flavor. I may also try ordering some on Amazon that are made by Moritz to see if they're the same as the Moritz ones I got on eBay.I haven't noticed a taste difference between the various colored wrappings in the Moritz brand, like I did in Germany. Maybe they don't make them that way anymore. Same with the Eichetti. If you've read this far, you might like to know that there is a chocolate company in my town, Van Otis, which makes a candy they call "Swiss Fudge" which is VERY similar to Eiskonfekt and is delicious. It comes in light or dark, with nuts or without, and a couple of different flavors. They will ship to anywhere in the U.S. But the shipping may be expensive because it has to be kept cool and is usually done as a 1-day overnight so it doesn't melt.

Melt in your mouth
We received these in a Universal Yums! box from Germany and were delighted by them. These are the same shape and size as the ones we received. We put them in the fridge to cool and then as you suck on them they melt into chocolatey heaven. We wish they came in larger sizes, the bigger ones seem to be cups or cubes only, and we like these thinner squares.

Not what I thought I was ordering.
The packaging is completely different than what is advertised. The bag was also open.Being the bag was open I do not want to taste. I was so excited about this product as I had this chocolate from a Universal Yums Box. Very disappointing!
