Well Worth The $$$
Less than 1000 pressed !, If You are lucky enough to get a hold of 1 of these (The other Being "Pronounced'), I Suggest You do it. Again, I Have the remastered CD edition, The Original MCA Version (W/Note scribbled in the dead wax), Yet, this is so much better. I also Have "Second Helping" on 200 gram Vinyl, But, at 33 rpm, not at 45rpm. They, (MCA) released The 45rpm editions on the MCA rainbow label, But, "Second Helping" on the "Sounds of the South" label ??. Woulda made sense to also do "Pronounced" On the S O S label !!!. Overall, The Quality of these pressings (Pressed @ Sterling) are Much improved over the CD Remasters. the ONLY problem is, 2 to 3 songs and You are Changing Lp's !. Again, also I got to hear things that I NEVER heard Before, that just made Me think of the old days, Growing up and listening to Classics. Oh Yeah, a little on the expensive side, But WELL worth the $$$. I have also Purchased Stevie Ray Vaughn "The Sky Is Crying", and Peter Gabriel's "Up" Lp's on these Limited editions, And if You are a Collector.......The Prices on a Few of these LP's are already in the $200.00 to $600.00 Price Range ! Just letting You Know.

Great classic rock!!!
Lynrd Skynyrd's 4th album is strong & potent! When you understand the exhausting pace set once this band was signed to a major label you truly appreciate the strength of this 4th offering!!! I strongly recommend purchasing all 5 studio album's of Skynyrd's original line up. The 2001 remastered C.D.s' with bonus material sound great & for the reasonable price they are offered at through Amazon.com makes it well worth it!!! Many a Rock & Roll historian have theorized that had Lynyrd Skynyrd not been cut down in their prime they would have grown to become America's equivalent of "The Rolling Stones". I don't doubt that a bit when you look at all the great bands that stand the test of time they all eventually reach a comfort zone where they start to experiment with different genres' building a huge eclectic song catalogue!!!

My first Skynyrd album, and one of the best.
This album was my introduction to Lynyrd Skynyrd. I didn't really get into them until I was 22. I'd always dismiss them as just another Southern Rock band that wasn't as talented as the Allman Brothers Band and had a few hits. I was completely wrong. No, they're not as musical as the Allmans, but they make up for it with STRONG songwriting. And I think that oughta count. There's a lot of misconceptions with Skynyrd. They weren't a bunch of yahoo rednecks. They were hippies from the South that wrote about the misconceptions and unforgiving stereotypes that people made about their hometown. I'm from Eastern Kentucky, and there are some great people down here. Yes, there are rednecks, but not everyone from the south is a redneck. That's what Skynyrd was singing about, and for that, I respect them. Also, they were a great rock and roll band, and this album is a great rock and roll record. While it is missing a guitarist, the band sounds incredibly tight by this period. Allen Collins shines on this album, having co-written 7 of the 9 songs with Ronnie Van Zant. The title track, Trust, and Double Trouble all have that "whiskey soaked" blues flavor that the band has done before, but perfected this time. Great hooks, powerful performances abound.Every Mother's Son is, in my opinion, one of the Top 5 songs the band have ever written. A fantastic song about the rise and fall of some of their great friends, whether it's women, money, or drugs that corrupted them. This also has one of their best ballads, All I Can Do Is Write About It, the most bluegrassy thing the band has ever done. The violin always gets to me in this one. Beautiful stuff. And let's not forget the deep album tracks. Got The Same Ol' Blues is a fantastic J.J. Cale cover, and Cry For The Bad Man just smokes. Even without an extra guitarist, this band cooks. It might not be their best album (It still is pretty good), but it's definetly a keeper. Buy it if you love rock and roll.

Not as good as original mix
Poor remix. The first track skipped about 5 seconds in where the first rest is. Then there was a decrease in volume after that. I believe because the levels were set too high in the remix.

Good listen.
Enjoy the remastered and extended version. This is good album, however, not their best by any means. They were a tired band at this point.

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Decent Album But Not As Good As The First Three
Another major lineup change takes place prior to the recording of this album. Guitarist Ed King leaves the group and is not replaced leaving the band with only two guitar slingers instead of the three pronged attack that made them famous. Personally I don't think this album stacks up with the first 3. All the material is decent and has all of the normal trademark Skynyrd attributes, but the songs in general seem to be a step down for some reason. The title track was a big hit for the band and opens the album, although it was never one of my personal favorite singles. The middle of the album is just so so. The last two songs "Cry For The Bad Man" and "All I Can Do Is Write About It" end things on a high note however. The album is notable for somewhat moving in a more country oriented direction which would in turn be the influence for countless country rock bands of today. Overall this is not a bad Skynard album, but does not rank up with their best either.

QUALITY VINYL AND SUPURB SOUND
NOT BEEN LUCKY WITH VINYL. SENT A NUMBER BACK FOR REFUND BECAUSE OF SRCATCHES AND STAINED PLAYING SURFACE. BOUGHT SECOND HELPING AND GIMME BACK MY BULLETS AND WOW. GREAT SOUND AND QUALITY AT LAST. BOUGHT THE REST OF LYNYRD SKYNYRD WITH 180 grms and they are fantastic with no quality issues.
