Cost Effective Replacement for Pellet Grills
In search of a "best bang for the buck" part replacement on my name brand pellet grill, I saw this unit and gave it a try.Pretty easy to install if you follow a couple tips:1) Unplug pellet grill2) Consider the condition of your fire pot, if it's corroded, you may as well replace it too. Failed fire pots produce poor results of fluctuating heat in pellet grills.3) Follow fire pot removal procedures to remove the fire pot that contains the hot rod (my QuliMetal fire pot review has good tips for this procedure)4) With loose/removed fire pot, loosen the screw retaining the failed hot rod igniter.5) Twist / rotate and remove old hot rod. If extremely difficult, consider fire pot replacement.6) Clip old hot rod wire, discard old hot rod and orange wire sleeves. and leave in place for now.7) Insert new hot rod into the fire pot leaving 1/8" (3 mm) to 1/4" (6 mm) sticking out into the fire pot.8) Secure the hot rod with the provided screw or the old screw if the new one happens to not fit.9) Grab the old hot rod wire you clipped, and tape it to the new hot rod wire well. Can hook the wire behind the new hot rod plug to ensure it doesn't slip from your tape. Keep taping slender to allow it to slip through the hole by the wiring.10) Re-install fire pot in reverse order it was removed.11) Access the wiring area below the pellet hopper and find the purple labeled wire. Gently pull this wire to pull your new hot rod lead through the cavity of the grill to the wiring area.12) Plug in the new hot rod purple connector to the wire harness purple connector.13) Secure wire with new zip ties away from fan.14) Plug grill in and test - expect to "burn in" new parts to cook off any residue from manufacturing.15) Enjoy...

At this price I really should just keep a spare on hand
My Traeger is about 10 years old and this is my second time replacing the igniter. It came super quick and since this is my second time replacing it the process was pretty painless Hint: Lay your smoker on its back to make access easier. Another hint: If your smoker starts opening your GFCI then your igniter is likely starting to go bad, order one before complete failure. I'm happy with this and it fits perfectly.

Perfect fit,
The change from the old to the replacement took about 20 minutes only because I took my time and cleaned the auger and fan. The Hot Rod slid in the firepot with no issue. It works good and I may purchase another to keep on hand.Update 02/23/2020. The hot rod die today after 10 months. It lived a busy life, so glad I still had my original hot rod, that being said time to order a spare!

Modified for yoder ys640
I used this to replace the igniter in my yoder ys640. The ones that were made for it we out of stock everywhere and close to $60. I just cut this and added it to the connector. Works great now.

Hot Rod works without any issues
Was out camping, when my Traeger was having an issue and shorty out and trigging the GFI. I spoke to Traeger Rep and said they would send one out to replace, take about 4-5 days to arrive. I order this from Amazon and received in2 days at my beach campsite. Install the Hot Rod, and took care of the problem. I cooked , 3 racks of ribs, 1 brisket, 50 Jaleepeno poppers, salmon and no issues with the Hot Rod. I plan to carry a back up.

Traeger Hot Rod
We tried to order this part directly from Traeger, but after charging our credit card, they couldn't find the order in their system. So, we were without our smoker for weeks waiting for a shipment that was never going to come. We found this replacement part, got it in two days, installed it easily, and no heat at first. In addition to needing to replace the hot rod, we also needed to replace the fuse behind the control panel. AND, fortunately, this replacement part also came with a new fuse. We are back up and smokin' again.
