I LOVE this flatware!!
After having three pieces of my mismatched junky flatware break in the space of two months, I decided that at the ripe old age of 73, I would treat myself to my very first set of brand new GOOD flatware. I've never bought anything but garage sale and Goodwill flatware all my adult life and decided it was past time to buy myself a well-deserved Christmas present. I called my daughter, a retired chef, who I know is extremely picky about stuff like this and who had bought herself new flatware a couple of years ago. She said she had used this Knork ware in a restaurant once and had lusted after it until she found herself a set. I bought it and fell in love with it the first time I held it in my hands. It feels comfortable, has a good heft to it, looks classy as all get out, and it comes out of my dishwasher looking great. The very day I received it, opened the box, washed it, and used it at lunch, I loaded up all the junky stuff I'd been using for years (there was a total of three different kinds in my drawer), and took it straight back to Goodwill. I love it more every day. And the best part? I noticed on the box that the Knork company is in Newton, Kansas, which is 20 miles away from where I live. So even though I bought it through Amazon, I was buying locally without even knowing it! Perfect!!

Solid quality!
After much research (especially 18/10 vs. 18/0), I purchased this set and could not be any more delighted. Weighty, solid, easy to grasp, hold & use, I had no problems using this flatware.During my decision making process, I contacted Knork customer service. Their response was immediate, they are helpful and gracious, patiently answering my (seemingly 100!) questions.I've run the pieces through the dishwasher several times (I have a tendency to wash my dishes/silverware to death lol) and they come out looking clean and shiny.Since I'm a little fussy regarding cleaning my silverware, my 'care' is several steps but not time consuming or difficult., I rinse off my utensils immediately after use (I don't allow food to harden/sit on silverware) and soak them in mild soapy water (Dawn) and rinse prior to throwing them in the dishwasher. I also take the silverware out of the dishwasher as soon as I can after the cycle, wipe off all the excess water with a soft cotton towel and allow them to air dry for a bit before tossing them in the drawer.I DID run "quality control tests" on these when I got them, doing everything the Care Instructions say NOT do do, like soak them for a long period of time, not cleaning off the food immediately, etc. While I DO NOT RECOMMEND running these 'tests', I encountered no problems!I couldn't be happier with this flatware and I know I'll enjoy them for many years to come!

I love but Husband hates
After a decade of being married and being homeowners, I felt like I wanted real adult cutlery instead of the mismatched dollar tree assortment of utensils scattered in our kitchen drawers. Except for the fact that I always liked the idea of trident forks, this is the set of my dreams. The heaviness of the metal and the matte stainless steel silver is very industrial. The shape and curves of the cutlery is elegant. It is very much a unique collection. Don't know if this is a good analogy but it is like having an essential closet piece with a bit of drama; a well fitted, well constructed, wear with anything blazer but the blazer has a military cut or some masculine flair like that. The weight distribution is very easy on the hands and that is something I never even knew was a problem I had before. I think my husband finds the set too unique. It is mostly the curve in the fork that disturbs him but he is getting used to it.

Beautiful but not durable
When purchasing this product, my wife and I read that some consumers had rust spots. We had seen the product in the store and knew we liked the look and feel of it. We assumed that those that complained of rust spots may have been using it a bit harder than we would. I believe we handle our silverware cautiously, we don't leave things soaking/sitting around. We eat, rinse off and then place in the dish washer, wash and then put away. Well, after the second wash certain items began rusting. We're noticing it more on the knives but it is on some of the forks and spoons as well. We are keeping the set, but it is a bit disappointing. What we assumed would last 5+ years as our previous set had, we are now hoping will last at least 2 years and are unsure it will be able to do that as more and more items are rusting. So, if you're looking for a short term set to look good and that feels good and you don't mind the rusting, then absolutely, this is it. However, if you're looking for a long term purchase, you may want to go with something else. It's a pity to have something that is so perfect in so many ways but has one major defect, lack of sustainability.

They do not stack well, otherwise decent so far
This review is entirely based on first impressions. The packaging is nice, the utensils are sturdy, and they feel decent in hand. The brushed finish is nice. The only issue I have with the utensils is that they do not stack on top of each other well. For me, this is a pet peeve, and enough of an issue that I am considering returning them. The handle has an awkward design element at the base of the neck that is out of proportion with the rest of the instrument, and this is the cause of the stacking issue. If you don’t care that they stack neatly in the drawer, first, what is wrong with you? But you may be satisfied.
