Strong but fragile. I guess that's common with this type of magnet.

Magnet's are very strong and larger then most magnet's at this price.

They perform well as ferrite magnets would. I was looking for science experiment magnets and did not initially purchase Neodynium magnets as these might be too strong for children to handle, however every experiment (copper pipe/eddy currents and iron filings/magnetic fields) failed with the ceramic magnets. I finally purchased small Neodynium magnets (the ones that look like small button batteries) and these turned out to be both safe to handle and great for science fairs.

For my purposes it didn't make much difference, but for many customers this is a showstopper. These are magnetized from one side to the other, NOT end-to-end. Good for magnetic holding applications, but not for doing "science class" type demonstrations of magnetic fields.Apart from a wrong description, these are good quality magnets. In reading the reviews, I see many of the complaints relate to the fact that these are ferrite ceramic -- as fragile as glass, with sharp edges, and may have some fine black powder on the surface (sawdust from the cutting operation). That's how cut ferrite is, can't fault it for that.
