16" Long Scrap Box of 3/4" Thick Boards, All Black Walnut

These are off-cuts but I like the variety, and size consistency. There are some straight grained pieces, and some knotty/wormy pieces. All of the black walnut looks good. (I got the wood for the legs, and rails from a different source.) I used about half the wood to make the piano bench top. Would get again.

Great wood, I was surprised at the quality of the selected wood they sent. I won't have any scrap. Dried, all of them averaged the size advertised, and I didn't have any knots or noticable scars. The only reason I gave it 4 stars, was that I was not as much wood as I anticipated, as the picture posted does seem misleading. However, it was close it would seem, and for the price point, it's competitive.

So I usually don’t write good reviews I only take effort to make one when someone really messes things up but wow. The amount of quality of the boards in this box and how it’s been Tetris placed to fit as many wood boards that can fit in the box is quality. Very happy with the fast shipping, the product, the packing, the value is all there and I will be a returning customer.Thank you!

I wish I could give it a 4.5 star rating. The color isn’t what the picture shows and while it’s kind of a bummer it’s still a beautiful color. It’s definitely different than regular walnut but not the color depicted. That being said I got a full box of varying grains and a few knots which weren’t loose or full thickness. The 3/4 works great because I can break them down with a bandsaw and run them through a planer to get the thickness I need. I’ll definitely be ordering some more and wish there was more wood variety’s they offer like this. This box was a Urn for a friend of mines father. The black walnut and maple box is absolutely beautiful.

I like that there is a bunch of different types of black walnut pieces. There is curly stuff, sappy stuff, and knotty stuff. I like it when they are knotty. I will be having fun making all sorts of stuff, serving trays, lazy susans, clocks, and maybe some cribbage boards, I'll be buying another batch, soon.

The box was not full. Another level of boards would easily have fit in the box. Of the boards received, 8 boards were very nice with minimal defects or blemishes, good project material. 2 boards were knotted and had cracks through to the other side, very little usable wood in these two.

If you are buying this for firewood, then it's great overpriced firewood. If you are buying this for woodworking, don't waste your money. The picture shows what MOST of the boards looked like. There were about 5 boards that didn't have any knots or other major issues. Don't buy this unless you are sure you want it because they charge a 20% restocking fee to send it back. It says scrap in the description, but this is less than scrap, it's crap.

I don't have any specific plans for this collection of black walnut but the price seemed quite reasonable and I'm happy with the lumber. I think it'll look great in whatever project it eventually becomes a part of.

If you are going to use to cut up in small pieces to make something similar to chequer board - ok. Worst $100 spent. At least 75% had knots. 20% boards were split or cracked. Shipping cartoon arrived split open. Wonder if any boards had fallen out…thievery not a consideration as who would want.
