The only kind I've ever had is metal and this is cheap plastic. Part of the sensory is feeling the cold needles on your hand. Also the plastic ones are so light that they get stuck in the holes almost every time. I knew my daughter would love it bc shes duch a sensory person but no.... Dont waste your $$$.

We ordered the "colorful" option expecting it to contain the pastel pink/blue/purples as pictured, but received something different. The quality is just OK - I have a feeling these pins will be breaking off in no time. This isn't worth the $21 paid. Will likely be returning.

I bought this for my 3 year old son. The peg pieces were easily bent then eventually broken while being played with. Also came with a one of the bolts broken. I think because it was plastic instead of metal. It lasted a week in my house.

First one came with all the pins fallen out. Then ordered a replacement that never came. Save your money and do not buy.

My kids and I love the multicolor! It's plastic, but it seems pretty durable. We have loads of fun using this toy! Reminds me of my childhood. Overall, I'd definitely buy it again, but I wish it was a bit cheaper...
