Perfect For Homeschool and Learning Play. 40 of Each Coin and Bill
Perfect for homeschool and learning play. What I love about this set is that it has lots of coins, $100 bills, and everything in between. This way it is perfect for our homeschool lessons and learning play. My 5 year old son is just learning his coins and larger numbers, so the set works with him. But at the same time my 4th grader is able to practice making change and dealing with larger numbers. No other sets that we have had for play money (except for Monopoly which is what we used before this) let you deal in hundreds, which we discovered is where she really needs work to intuitively understand numbers. The money looks real enough to satisfy the kids but is definitely fake. The coins feel a bit light and cheap but look close enough to the real thing to help them identify them by sight. My only complaint with the coins is that they don't stack well so it's hard to make towers of coins to group them; you have to make a pile instead. The set includes 40 of each coin (penny, nickel, dime, quarter) and 40 of each bill ($1, $5, $10, $50, $100). This is sufficient to not be ridiculously large but also deal with lots of play scenarios.

Disappointing “Briefcase Box” on an Otherwise Wonderful Play Money Set
This is a really neat set of play money for teaching kids about math and currency. You get a decent quantity of each denomination, so making change or counting out the correct mix for a given transaction amount is no problem. It’s all in a molded plastic tray (with lid) that keeps the different denominations separate and easy to access. Unfortunately, the “Briefcase Box” is just a handle on the cardboard sleeve that fits around the plastic tray. Oh, well, nothing’s perfect! It’s rated for ages 3+, presumably due to small pieces being unsuitable for younger kids, but the lower end of the range will also depend upon education and maturity. Not all 4 year olds will be ready to comprehend money. Once they’re ready, however, this set will be a fun educational tool. The bills are slightly smaller (about 2.25 x 5.875 versus about 2.625 x 6.125 inches for real U.S. bills) and coins slightly larger than their real counterparts. The coins have the correct (smooth vs. ridged) edges and have some relief to the images minted on them, but are much lighter because they’re made of plastic.Recommended!Review of: Ben Franklin Toys Deluxe Play Money Set Containing $7,000 of Realistic Bills & Coins with Storage Tray & Briefcase Box Toy

Not realistic but still fun
This money will be great for replacing the money in board games, or for kids who just need "sort of realistic" money to play or practice with. There's a ton of money here. The tray is useful and it's not hard to put the money back in it.I did get this because it said "realistic" in the description, and on my phone I couldn't see the preliminary photo well. So if you're on your phone, or dial-up, or whatever, this money is NOT REALISTIC. Haha. I mean yeah, no one is going to be passing these as counterfeits. I got these to use with elementary kids in special ed, for money ID, etc., and that won't work. It doesn't really look like money at all. They should make it look at least sort of like real US money. Fortunately we have a play area which this money works much better for. Also, if you don't like the plastic coins (I don't), you can replace them with real coins if you are using the money in a place where the real coins won't be pocketed. Real coins are just more fun.

Great for teaching money and reinforcing basic math skills
This Deluxe Play Money Set from Ben Franklin Toys is fantastic for teaching young ones about money and for reinforcing basic math skills. It comes with 40 each of pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, dollars, fives, tens, twenties, fifties and hundreds. The coins are pretty realistic except for the weight. The paper bills are not but they are close enough for the purpose at hand. The come in a lightweight, fairly flimsy cash "drawer" which fits inside a cardboard "briefcase."I remember using play money with all of my children and I'm pleased to be able to have this to teach my granddaughter when she visits. Children love play money and it's easy to create little games that will strengthen their math and money skills. My only disappointment in this set is the cost, which is a little high at the current price of about $15.

nice basic set or learning or play
This is a nice basic set of play money. It would be a good replacement for sets that come with toy cash registers but it's also educational, we're using ours as a homeschool math help. While the coins and money are not perfectly realistic they're plenty close enough for learning purposes. I like the tray it comes with to keep everything organized. The reason I give the set four stars rather than five is that I feel the price is a bit high for what it is. At this price point I feel either the quality of the paper should be higher or the included try should come with a lid and be sturdier plastic. All in all this get is good and I like it but a lower price or a few improvements would make it really great.
