Did not work well as expected
To be fair product design was slick main reason I’m convince to bought the item however it did not work well as expected. For Macbook Pro 2017 model, I lost my wifi connection after connecting both external monitors through the HDMI ports. In addition increase of the device temperature was also observed after charger was connected. I have decided to return the item and change for another USB C Hub model.

Good colour match
As I've had this adapter for only a few hours, I can't say much about its performance but, as you can see from the photograph, it is a good colour match for my new, gold MacBook Air M1. The same can't be said of the shape - the back edge extends beyond the back of the computer and the side with the ports has almost square corners, rather than matching the curvature of the computer. On the other side, it has more rounded corners but these don't do anything for the appearance. It's a little less tall than the MacBook with the lid closed and there is a nice bevel on the edge nearest to the computer so that it sits flush with the lower half when the lid is open, so it's not all bad on the industrial design front.I suppose the quite bright, white LED would be a good addition if it came on when the computer was charging, but it is on all the time. At least it reassures you that the adapter is connected. Maybe the rounded corners are useful because it is a tight fit in the USB-C sockets and the rounded corner at the SD-card slot end allows you to grip it with your thumb to lever it out. I wouldn't want to test how many times I could do that before something broke, hopefully not in the MacBook ...The port information is printed underneath, which is fine if you connect everything up before plugging it into the MacBook, but invisible if it's already plugged in. Not a big deal because it's obvious what each port is.Good point is the colour match, plus it wasn't expensive. In retrospect, I think I ought to have gone for one (or even two) with a cable to plug in as I'm likely to be unplugging it frequently. OK for a more permanent installation though.

Working and Beautiful
I was very reluctant to upgrade to the new Macs because the last thing I need is another bloody cord to keep track of or lose. I travel a lot (or did before Covid) and I have to have a very flexible computer for SD cards, USB etc, as I am a filmmaker and author. I am also a girl who likes things to match and look pretty, so to find a C Hub that would match my new travel computer was a relief.Like most astute shoppers I read all of the negative reviews first, but the average was low and the complaints did not seem overly serious. I am glad I did my research and purchased this because I was on a deadline when my computer crashed and I had to quickly upgrade and get all of the parts in 24 hours to finish my work. I did! And while I am still not happy at Apple for making our lives more complicated with all of their extra bits, at least this extra bit works:)

Perfect product...but
This is an excellent item. I researched for ages and even asked a question from other buyers here before purchasing. I loved how it matched my gold MacBook Air 2020 exactly and for the various extension ports I need. However, it was with a heavy heart that I had to return it 😔. The main reason is because it sits flush against the Mac this means I had to remove the outer protective hard case leaving my expensive Mac vulnerable to scratches/damages. I have looked into alternatives (decal skins) but is an extra cost of £35+. So for aesthetics I would be paying £70+ (includes price of this item). The other reason was, it was getting too hot, therefore, I was attaching/detaching to allow for cooling. I can see an accidental breakage in the future! So if you don’t mind any of that, you will be pleased with it. It’s got a good chunky feel. I will continue to search for an alternative design but the same colour. Right now that’s near on impossible.

Everything you need in one clever bit of kit
Apple have annoyed a huge number of people with their policy of only providing just to two USB C ports on their new range of MacBooks. This clever little device/interface addresses that problem and gives you the variety of ports that used to be available and a few more in addition. Connection is simple but don't leave it in all the time as I suspect that in certain circumstances, the sockets will be damaged if the interface is knocked or twisted. It's still very annoying that, having spent a small fortune on buying a MacBook Air you have to then spend and extra £40 or more to make up for the shortcomings of a flawed design decision on Apple's part.

Unreliable
Used with MacBook Air M1 & LG Ultra HD monitor. Over the course of 1 week proved unreliable so returned. Ethernet would drop out where no IP address could be assigned , checked this was not the hub as wifi still active and other devices ok. HDMI on external monitor was also a problem, when laptop woke from sleep picture was sometimes corrupted or lost completely, device had to be unplugged and plugged in again to reset.
