I Survived the Destruction of Pompeii, AD 79

This book is another in the I Survived series. My 2nd graders love these books. This particular topic has been of interest for my students. The topic and storyline is terrific.

We struggled to find a subject in reading that held my son‘s attention. This series is amazing. He has truly enjoyed reading them and also learned while doing so.

I loved reading this book to my class! Great for grades 3-5.

My grandnephew was so excited to get this book for his birthday! There are a series of these action-adventure books, and he has read several of them and loves them! Teacher recommended-his 3rd grade teacher got him started. If you have kids who love reading, order some! Very reasonably priced, too.

I read this in advance of sharing w my child and really liked it - uplifting (bc the main character SURVIVED the disaster ) and it also brings the past to life. That said, I felt it was a bit advanced for my first grader (the history, the scary facts of many people perishing under a volcano, what is sulfuric gas, how does it kill people, why are people slaves in ancient rome, why are people so cruel)... but I will def re-introduce it to her when she is in 2nd or 3rd grade as it will be helpful in making history real, and not a list of names and dates to memorize as i had felt when i was a young one in school.

My son is 14 and he enjoys the I survived series. He likes to play PS4 but enjoys tends to disconnect to read.

I bought several copies for my students, and we all LOVED this book! Laure Tarshis knows how to tell a story and weave in the history behind it. This one was a class favorite!

My grandson loves, loves, loves this book series. Not only do they distract him from constant video gaming, but he maintains his reading skills and is introduced to real historical facts ... win-win-win!

If you wanna know about pompeii and the life of the people over there and what happened during the eruption of mount vesuvius in bird's eye view, you can give it a try. Very many details of ancient rome was sprinkled over the book. Its interesting .

WOW MY SON 7 YEARD OLD- RELUCTANT READER READ THESE BOOKS ONCE HE OPENED WITHOUT PUTTING THEM DOWN UNTIL THEY ARE ALL DONE IN A WEEK.WRITE SOMEMORE BOOKS TO EDUCATE CHILDREN IN FUN WAY.THANKS A MILLION TO THE WRITER.

The story is ok but the inside is in black and white and it's not attractive for children. Quite disappointed
