A unique tool. Worth every penny.
Lamp's not as bright as I expected having read other reviews. The mirror glass had separated from its mount in the package (a very simple fix, of course). That said, what a great idea. Integrated lamp and magnet on the end of the flex arm make for an absolutely fantastic tool for finding and fetching the little stuff I always seem to be dropping when fixing stuff.

I love this tool.
Let me start by saying that I am super pleased with my purchase from Sensible Products. I purchased this light sold by another company when I was in Austria and now always make sure it is in my tool bag.The “manufacturer” of this light seems to make two versions with the only difference being the size and strength of the magnet on the base. That magnet is the very reason that my original purchase is always in my tool bag. I can firmly anchor the light above or adjacent to my work area with this super strong magnet and extend and angle the head directly into my work with both hands free to do my job. The bright LED light gives me plenty of light to see what I’m doing, much more than any incandescent devise like an “Mini Mag” which I also own.My search to find a backup for the tool that I love resulted in eight or ten different distributors selling almost identical products, difference being only the size of the base and price. I have concluded that these two different versions are being manufactured by the same company (probably in China) because absolutely everything in the design is the same no matter which distributor you buy from with the exception of the engraving on the handle. The three LED light, the octagonal nut design on the light head, same push button, same battery compartment with same batteries, same telescoping and flex head, same pocket clip, same knurled handle grip and handle design, same magnet ring on the light, and magnet but two versions on the base. See the attached photo of all three of my lights. The one on the left is my original from Austria, the light on the right with the small base and magnet was my first purchase from Amazon and the blue light in the middle is from Sensible. You can see what I was explaining about the design. The light with the small base/magnet could be found selling for $7.00 to $15.00 and only two distributors with the large base/magnet selling for $23.00 to $34.00. Taking a chance that the cheaper light with the small magnet would work as well I found that it was the same excellent light from the base up but the magnet would not hold the weight of the tool. See photo attached. I had to place it close to the bench because it wouldn’t hold anything. Happily the light sold by Sensible (center) does the job I want. I’ll probably buy another. If you are not concerned with the strength of the magnet and only want it to retrieve the occasional dropped screw or nut and like the idea of the telescoping light head then by all means buy the cheaper version but if you are a serious mechanic or DYI person you must have this light from Sensible. At least look for the large base magnet. You’re going to love it.To answer some erroneous feedback about the strength of the base magnet, I've included a photo of this light with the telescope fully extended. You can't bounce it around but it has a good firm grip.btw: All the fretting about the unusual batter is unnecessary. Just search for Maxell LR44 here on Amazon. Good price, takes four and last a long time.

Specialized Tool for Those " Man, I'm Glad I Have This!" times.
First off, Four stars for the packaging, Five Stars for the Tool. When received, the mirror attachment was in separate pieces. Mirror fell out of its plastic holder and the post that is supposed to fit in the ring was separated. Well I don't fault the tool for this, it appears it was mishandled by the supplier. Easy fix for a drop of super glue for the mirror and reinstalling the post in the ring. Nothing really broken, just shouldn't have to fix it first thing. Now for the tool. It must have been designed for the working man in tight spaces because it designed just for that purpose. Magnets on both ends, light end and base end. Think of times you have dropped a screw down in a narrow dark space you can't reach. This is what this is for. Sectional antenna like sections with the end section is flexible. Pulled out completely is about 18 inches long! Mirror attachment is the really helpful part for looking behind areas normally inaccessible otherwise, like model numbers of motors in dark areas. Nothing I have seen does the job this does! It's not a tool to be used on an ongoing basis as it uses three button batteries in the head that I doubt would stand for long periods of time lit without running the batteries down. The upside though, they are easily replaced though when time comes to change them. Who cares how much the batteries are if they do the job! right? Light is very bright and easily turned on and off. Strong pocket clip but I can't see anyone really clipping this tool inside their pocket, it's long even fully retracted. Nice job on this tool other than the packaging it's a great buy too!

Not worth it
A coworker had one of these and my father got so excited about it, so I ordered 3 for Christmas presents. Before I could even gift - all the mirrors popped off and I had to glue them back on. My coworker (who bought this in a hardware store) never had this problem. Either these are much more poorly assembled, or are so old that the glue isn't effective anymore. Either way save yourself the hassle and just go pay the extra $5 to buy these at a real store.
