Deadlock (Ryan Lock Book 2)

Excellent action thriller, a little beyond the imagination. Sometimes the writer gets confused, such as being on the West Coast and talking about the wind blowing to the Atlantic, instead of the Pacific. Overall, the action is pretty continuous and exciting but somewhat unbelievable. I enjoyed the book but not the Politics as described by a British writer thinking he has his fingers on the pulse of America's Politics, such as Sarah Palin and our Fist Black President. Ryan Lock and his Buddy Ty, do the impossible while the Secret Service and local cops are totally impotent. 4 stars is pushing it for this one.

I wanted to enjoy this book and main character; this is one of my favorite genres after all. But the characters were flat--at least the 'good' guys were--and it was hard to connect with them. The sidekick--the guy with the pimp-mobile who doesn't think that's a bad idea? Not believable or even vaguely likable. The author did a good job of building tension but everything else was so...labored. Just telling me several times how upstanding and smart and noble the character is, doesn't make me believe it. I should not have come to this book after re-reading a Joe Pike novel. My expectations were all askew...

My first novel with this author Sean Black. Unfortunately my last as well. For my tastes the book reads too much like an action movie, complete with unrealistic shooting scenes and explosions everywhere. The main character Ryan Locke is like superman with bullets whizzing by and somehow missing him while the human cops stand around watching the action. His partner Ty feels part of the book just so Ryan is not alone in his superb-ness.

Well this is the second Sean Black book I've read and I was actually hooked after the first!!! You couldn't ask for more action-packed writing than this!!! Sean Black has been added to the list of my favorite authors!!!

Good Book, didn’t like Black’s lie about the plane not being able to go around. A plane can even touch down and take off again, does he think we are dumb? Another gaffe is “ out towards the Atlantic “ on the west coast? Besides the gaffs I liked the story line and give Black kudos for another great read

This book is my second book in this series, and just as enjoyable. I definitely recommend this book, and I definitely will read all the others.Bernice F.

Another great Ryan Lock adventure. Fast paced and surprise ending. Gives an obscure of what kind of people we must have to keep people safe from extremists.
