Zero to Hero ESP8266

The author gives many helpful introductory examples for using an ESP8266. However the text is plagued by numerous typographical and grammatical errors, making many sentences difficult to understand. I am surprised the book made it into print. Yet, the author claims to have been an Assistant Professor at MIT!

This book goes over the basics and it good for a beginner (i.e. me). Same info is all over the internet for free, but this is a good starting point. For an intermediate person it would be a disappointment.

Excellent book with some clever electronic and coding tips. HOWEVER it has numerous typographical errors. The book also focuses around the NodeMCU. If you have a ESP01 connected an Arduino, you'll have to figure out the pieces of information that are missing. For example, there's no information how to stick an ESP01 in program mode. That took me a 1/2 day to figure out with some googling.

I had no problem getting my first "Hello" connection with my ESP8266 using the instructions. All of his books could use a serious editing. English is not his first language so it sometimes takes a couple of readings on stuff this technical and exacting to be sure what has to be done. But nobody's going to die if something goes wrong, so I worked through it.

I have bought this book because mr Thakur has learned we how to resolve deep reset problems. Even if I do not feel like a hero, I know today that esp8266 are a good way to understand something about TCP/IP. The fifth star is missing because a hero must know how to organize different sorts of nets.

Yes, it's a good book for learning how to use the ESP8266 in all of its forms, however, it really truly needs to be proofread. There are spelling and grammar errors galore. Almost every page could be improved for readabilities sake. But, I do recommend it.

If you have several Arduino projects under your belt, and are ready to move to wifi, you need this book! makes the process simple, with fast results. Wifi everything and anything, from your fridge to your cat door, and show the data yuo collect in easy to understand graphs and charts.

A great starter book for the beginner

I bought today this little kindle format written from an author who has put such highvalued information on this 128 pages I cannot believe it. I have some experiments with the esp8266 and it is a pretty good platform instead of a normal arduino one. One can install a lot of aruino code and the best purpose is, you won't need any wlan-extension for your wlan experiments, it is all on board of this little 'devil'. But I give the five stars for the applications in this book, which is a dozen more worth than all the books or blogs I've read in the past. If you come to the point you will have to construct the client and server software you will have to make some sort of HTML code for displaying it on your client-pc or on your android. For the client pc the author gives you step by step instructions and an VBA from microsoft based software in your hand, so you can start out of the box your client-server project at once. This book is a miracle. I promise. Thanks to the author. Five stars are too few - I would rate it 10 stars but amazon does not do so :(

Lo consiglio per chi è agli inizi, come me, ed è in cerca di un testo che spiega in maniera semplice l'uso del modulo esp8266. È vero che alcune informazioni si potrebbero trovare su internet, ma, secondo me, avere tutto a portata di mano in un unico testo può essere un vantaggio, visto anche il costo non eccessivo.
