Delicious!
I was looking for a quick snack at work that I could keep in a desk drawer, and these sticks looked like a good choice. I was happy that they were from humanely raised, grass-fed beef; and they are MSG, gluten, and sugar free (original flavor) I checked out the Grass Run Farms website to get additional information. Everything looked good, so the only question remaining was whether or not they would taste good. (Sometimes healthier options taste like, well, healthier options.) As soon as I received the package in the mail, I opened one right up and tasted it. What a pleasant surprise! Not only are they healthy, but they taste great too! They are delicious, with a crisp casing and moist, chewy inside that has a shredded beef texture. I could taste hints of black pepper and garlic, but the spices were not overpowering. I have never eaten a Slim Jim, so I can't compare, but I found these sticks to be quite tasty. A great option for a snack at work fits the bill of being paleo, responsible, MSG free, gluten free, etc. I will be buying plenty more and plan to pass a few out at the office.

Mooove On!!! Until Quality Control Grabs The Rogue Bull By The Horns
This was my 3rd order of Grass Run Farms, Original Flavor beef sticks. 6g of protein, easy snack, nom nom! I decided to upgrade my usual order of 12 to a bulk order of 24 to save money because I'm a Costco Super-Fan and that's how we do things! Sadly, this "bulk" batch should have been placed in a permanent time-out, never to experience the joy of relaxing in an Amazon Prime box like cats so love to do!Sooooo...you know how when you are about to leave for vacation...and you try to give your assigned co-worker the instructions on how to do your job...and they just nod their heads, don't take any notes so you know that you will return to an absolute clustermuck?? I think that is what happened with this latest batch. :-(Perhaps, Cowboy Bill found a cutie on FarmersOnly.com and took her off the ranch to Vegas. Timmy, his replacement, was supposed to be in charge of production, brought the beef over, started stuffing the casings, stuck them in the oven (but since he hadn't taken ANY notes), he neglected to actually "TURN THE OVEN ON". You know what happened next? Timmy saw a Pokemon by the fence, another beside a cow and next thing ya know, he had PokemonGO or rather, PokemonGONE for over 7.5 hours!!! Realizing his shift was almost over, he rushed over, packaged up the uncooked beef sticks and shipped them. So while Cowboy Bill was busy popping Viagra in Vegas, Timmy was busy sealing what looks like pitiful, flacid, condom-coated, uncooked/half cooked tubes of disappointment and regret. Yeah and he sealed them alright, but he didn't vacuum-seal them to lock in freshness or to prevent mold. I hope the people who unknowingly ate them also purchased the wonderful blessing known as Poo-Pourri, the bathroom's BFF.We all want Cowboy Bill to marry his new online love because he deserves everything those commercials promise! And when they take their honeymoon, lets all agree that it is okay for the company to say "Temporarily Out of Stock" when we have nom nom nommed the final beef stick in inventory. Don't let Timmy waste grass-fed beef. Dang it, Timmy, you had 1 job!!!

My family and I have been eating Paleo for over a year now. Grass fed beef sticks have been a life saving snack for me. I started on the Chomps brand and then switched to the Grass read farms brand. Initially I loved the taste way better than Chomps (and the grass run farms were cheaper). I have been getting the 144 cases (I eat them often!). However the last two orders have been off (same as other reviewers have noted). Some have had a "soapy" flavor. After biting into one with the soapy flavor, I was worried I would become ill (luckily I did not). But, those particular ones are inedible. I have also had some recently where the jalapenos are much larger but they taste like plastic (literally). It appears they currently have a quality control issue. I was going to give them another shot and reorder but, I just discovered the 144 pack has more than doubled in price. So, I will be going back to Chomps until they get things sorted out.

Excellent, great consistency (despite largeness of their small operation)
Updated: 8/17/15Grass Run Farms provided a coupon for the underweight items. In our latest batch all items are 1.15oz (in package) 1.05oz (out of package). We are very happy with this bunch, they came via FedEx so I think they spent less time in the heat. Consistency is good, flavor is spot on and love they are paleo (psoriasis hands) :-)Original post!I/we are on our third round of these. The first round was really good and meaty. Round two was mushy and concerning. Round three sticks are not all 1oz, most weigh .90oz out of the package, 1oz in the package. Out of 24 sticks, 20 were undersized. We'll continue to monitor the situation as these are an excellent grass fed product via amazon.Note: mushiness, wondering if hot southern climate is affecting consistency (100+ degree days during shipping)

Size Matters
I keep these stocked in my pantry all the time and they are delicious, while also not as processed as others. I follow Whole30 and these are compliant. Makes a great snack! My only complaint is the last batch I bought is much shorter than other orders of these I have had in the past. I'll give it one more go and if they continue to be as short as this batch, I'll probably look for another brand. Believe it or not, SIZE MATTERS.
