Lacks Gold Embellishment in Pic but It Works
As another review stated, it has no gold embellishment on it. It is plain black.It is easy to assemble (two upright pieces slot into the base) and it fits my sons samurai sword well. He was happy with it and it is up above a China cabinet so the lack of embellishment isn't as noticeable.

This is a basic as you can get. There is no gold symbol on the base as shown in the photo. So if you like the gold symbol , your not going to get one. The stand does fit together tightly. I had to use a rubber mallet to seat the uprights in the base. The paint finish is matt black and not the best paint job. The stand is usable but not pretty . I selected a used one at a reduced price. I would have been very upset if I paid full price.The saddle where you place the sword differs from other I have purchased as the ears that hold the sword are the same length. Usually the rear ears are a bit longer to keep the sword from tilting. I'm using mine to display a Viking hand axe so that won't come into play for me.
