Excellent product and cheaper than a security system
I've now purchased 3 of these units over the past 9 months and need one more. They work extremely well with bright light and appropriately sensitive motion detection. The light timer and alarm timer have different reset durations so if the alarm goes off but the light stays on, I know it was a small animal that triggered the light. The alarm has a volume control which is nice for turning the volume down when monitoring at night. It seems that the alarms are all set to the same frequency so no matter which light goes on, I can monitor with only one alarm; or, the alarms could be set in various locations and they will sound no matter which light has been activated. The broadcast radius easily encompasses my two-story, 2,800 square foot home. When I leave town, I intend to leave an alarm set outside so that any intruder will see the light and hear the alarm. This is a much more likely deterrent to crime than all of the motion cameras and security systems and their associated costs.

Useless customer service
Unit failed to rotate after about a year. Granted, it was a year from the purchse date, but the vendor refused to tell me how to contact the manufacturer; had no idea how long the warranty was good for; all they knew was after 30 days from the ship date, they dusted off their hands and responsibilty to provide info. Good old Wayfair!

Great Idea - Does NOT work well; Dies quickly
I bought the Nightwatcher and was thrilled with the concept. After extensive problems with the light activating continuosly from reflections of glass sliding door/window and leaving very sincere/serious msg with tech support number, I got a call from the president of the company.I tried everything he said, including taping off the sensor to block the sensing of the sun's reflection from the sliding glass door, the most vulnerable area that needs monitoring. That helped stop the false turn-ons, but precluded monitoring of the most important area. I put up with that for 2 months, then the unit failed. I reset it several times by turning off/onn of a power switch to the unit. That worked briefly. Now it doesn't work at all, except to stay on continuously. BTW, the president called me back about the "16 gig" SD card that it is supposed hold. Turns out the type card that will work is not available at all in the USA, perhaps not even in Asia, per his tech folks in China. Recording video rapidly fills the card, after which it records over the top of prior video. So much for a couple days away from home, especially if you have any false triggering by anything: reflections, or unimportant motion like cats, squirrels, plants, cars, etc.PROS: Good light brightnessCONS: Motion sensor not adjustable in sensitivity or direction, inadequate card recording capacity, huge and rapid failure rate, terrible customer service, lots of money for a paperweightMine is going back.

Unit well-designed and built sturdy - excellent customer service
I bought three of the halogen units with wireless alarms. I bought them from Wayfair via Amazon. It was evident from the start that they were of sturdy construction and well designed. The instructions cautioned in many places that they were sensitive and therefor subject to false positives from auto traffic and wind-blown vegetation, as well as other lights. I observed that this was quite true during installation and had to be creative, including duct-taping one of the zones that directly faced auto traffic and running a strip of electrical tape across the top of the triple-zone sensor so it would not reach as far as the trees on the other side of my driveway. Then everything worked fine for 2 out of 3 of the units. The third unit had a mind of it's own and at the completion of the 3-minute illumination after the last moving object ceased to move, instead of turning off the light and facing straight out, the light stayed on and it faced "zone 3", its leftmost position. I could not prevent this by masking out the entire zone 3 sensor and half of zone 2, so I presumed it to be a defect, which I confirmed by swapping one of the other 2 units with the unit that was malfunctioning. The swapped unit worked fine!It was 60 days from purchase on Amazon so I was beyond the Amazon refund/replace limit of 30 days but well within NightWatcher's one-year guarantee. Still, I started with an email to Amazon explaining the problem. They promptly acknowledged it and forwarded it to Wayfair. I feared the worst, but Wayfair emailed me the next day and asked what part was defective so they could order it for me. I was nervous again, but played it straight and photographed the unit with an arrow pointing to the sensor saying that didn't work and explained the malfunction. They responded immediately and said they would take care of it with NightWatcher and get me the right parts.Today I received a brand new complete replacement unit via UPS - just 5 days after my initial email to Amazon. I don't know if this unit will work - I suspect it will - but I am totally impressed with the entire process and the professional attitude in all of the emails. I'll follow up after a period of time on the longevity of my 3-tracking-light security project.Too often, only the complaints become reviews. Many of these complaints are from customers who don't read the instructions, don't know what they're doing, can't explain the problem, or just like to complain. I'm giving Amazon, Wayfair, and NightWatcher a 5-star review for the product, the price, and their attentiveness to the customer. I plan to buy more of these and run them from my off-grid solar power system.
