Finally, I have actual COFFEE again!!!
Due to having anxiety issues, I was informed to start using a decaf coffee that used the Swiss Water Process. For many years, I have been drinking Folgers or Maxwell House decaf. And where I was only drinking a cup once a week or so, it just wasn't satisfying my coffee craving. So I searched and searched Amazon and beyond to see all the options for SWP decaf. There were so many! I was able to narrow it down by omitting those brands that didn't show the SWP label on their packaging, cuz who knows? Well, this one stated Mayan Water Process but the reviews were all pretty good. It arrived a day later than it should have, but that's okay. I opened the bag this morning and WOW. The aroma of a fantastic coffee smell filled my nose. I think I actually had goosebumps. haha! So I brewed a cup like I normally do and the smell was amazing and the taste was even better. I usually use a medium roast and this tasted just a bit on the darker side; which I loved. Very robust, not bitter at all, and no issues with anxiety...so far, no tummy issues either. I may go back to drinking coffee every day again! The packaging is very basic; which is fine too. One very satisfied customer to have REAL coffee back in my life!

Milk drinker is enjoying drinking this black
I ordered this June 3rd to up my subscribe and save count and finally tried today, 7/19, the best by date is 12/7/19. Assuming a 6 month recommended max shelf life looks like beans are shipping right after roasting. Despite waiting longer than desired try, these are still plenty fresh. The brewed color is a warm reddish brown and taste has the nuance of good chocolate or good red wine, some taste of carmelized stone fruit, but I'm having trouble placing it exactly. It's not the best coffee I've ever had, but it's a very solid choice at this price point for making me forget I'm drinking decaf. Next time I'm in the area I would be likely to seek out the retail location to see how just roasted beans would taste as I normally try to buy local and enjoy within a week or two of roasting. This was good black, but not as strong as I'd like when adding milk. This definitely something I would buy again. Would love even more to see this in a slightly darker roast.

mild chocolate flavor that to me, is very good
This review is for the ground coffee because that is what I was accidentally sent by Amazon. (The took care of it though)This is lower acid, decaf, medium roast. First, dark roast is considered lower acid then light or medium roast as a rule. This is, just the same, a lower acid decaf. I got tired of the acid stomach from coffee. I use this in refillable capsules in a Nespresso machine so I have a smaller more concentrated shot of coffee. That said, this is a mild coffee with a distinct chocolate taste to it. There is no bite to it and the flavor for many true coffee lovers might be considered too weak. For me it was very nice and the noticeable chocolate taste is wonderful. For non-machine made coffee you can add more to enhance the coffee flavor or mix with a touch of darker roast coffee. I like hot chocolate and coffee. This is right in my wheelhouse and a tad more coffee flavor would be perfect.

A hundred thousand stars
God bless the wonderful souls who took the time and effort to make this magical decaf happen. There is a special place in heaven for you. I have searched high and low for years and this is hands down the best decaf I have ever had. It’s better than a lot of caffeinated coffees.. it doesn’t even taste like decaf. It tastes and feels like I'm drinking a cup of pretentious caffeinated coffee from my favorite hipster coffee shop. It has a deep, rich flavor and aroma, though the beans seem like a lighter roast. There’s no bitterness or acidity. Just a smooth, balanced cup of joe. My coffee-loving, anxiety-prone nerves are beyond grateful.

Nearly as good as the real stuff
For a decaf coffee this is pretty good. Recommended brewing method would be pour over, gives the broadest flavor profile, gets close to regular coffee that hasn't been subjected to the water process for decaffeination. It makes a solid latte, but is a little lack luster as Americano, good flavor just not as good as the pour over.

Smoothest medium roast I've ever had
Oh. My. Word. The first cup of this was the smoothest cup of coffee I think I've ever had. It reminded me of dark chocolate: when it's done right, it's not bitter. It's smooth. Ghiradhelli's 72% dark chocolate is like that. Well, this is the high-quality dark chocolate of the fresh-roasted coffee bean world. I am sold. I will be getting this coffee exclusively from now on. Thank you, Stone Street, for offering such a wonderful product! Coffee is one of my favorite treats and I'm so glad to have found a whole bean decaf coffee that isn't processed with chemicals and is so excellently roasted. I'm enjoying a cup as I write this and will be recommending this product to everyone. Keep up the good work!

It's a bit acidic
Disclaimer: I have not tasted lots of decaf coffee, so I have little to compare this to. But I can tell you that if your water is even a few degrees above 200°F, it will bring out a strong acidic taste from this coffee. When the temperature is right, it just tastes okay. I don't love it. The flavor is not very smooth or strong, just mediocre like something you'd get at McDonald's. Will not be buying again.
