Chromcast Audio by Google

Amazon listing clearly shows a US 110v plug, but I received a USB charger with a European 220v plug. Useless for me.Regarding the Chromecast Audio device itself, it is working fine for casting from the mobile/android version of PlexAmp. Google discontinued the product, which I assume is why the price is twice the original retail price.

buy elsewhere for cheaper. good product but could be better.disappointed that the google player didn't play music stored locally through the chromecast audio. and you need a premium account for spotify to use the option. use it mostly for internet radio. have it connected to a 15+ year old radiowould buy it again

The media could not be loaded. The reviews of this product are skewed since people aren't really sure what it's used for. This allows you to stream your favorite online music services to any speaker or receiver. Google is better than this device. They should be ashamed to put their name on it. You can not cast audio from youtube without paying for youtube red. You can have it play audio from your android screen which works but if you close your phone you loose the audio. Also youtube music does not have the same content as youtube.

The device is capable of cast audio from multiple internet sources, as long as your phone is cast capable and you are using the Google Home app or other cast capable apps. The major benefit of this device is that you can transmit via wifi to multiple chromecast audio devices, blue tooth is limited to a single device and latency is also an issue ( which can be a plus if you don't have wifi ). I use several of these, one attached to my living room stereo receiver and one to an upstairs stereo receiver. This allows me to hear the same audio stream in multiple locations. My guess about why others haven't seen the beauty of these things is that they don't have a specific use for them as I do. I agree that the audio cable that comes with the device is to short, however you can order one that has stereo RCA jacks, or a TosLink digital output as well and provide your own longer cable as required.
