Ecobee3 Wall Plate - White

After 2 weeks the paint started chipping. I would have returned it but to take it down, wait for a new one, and hope for a different outcome is problematic. Nonetheless... looks good out of the box.Updated with a pic per Smart Finish's request...

After years of paint accumulation around my old rectangular thermostat, there was no denying that I would have to use the large white plastic plate that ships with the Ecobee to cover up the uneven wall. Post mounting I found the plastic ring to be a distraction to the overall refined look of the new thermostat. Amazon to the rescue! Though costly, the looks of this cover is head and shoulders over the plastic ring that Ecobee provides and the square shape frames the thermostat nicely. The color in the picture represents this item well. It was shipped and arrived quickly (thanks prime!). I would purchase this product again.

I purchased this to avoid to have my wall painted because of the old thermostat that was there before. If I was not good at modifying things I would have returned it. The holes do NOT match the Ecobee3 main wire plate. Had to drill holes in order for this to fit right. Other small issue is that after installing the main unit the fit looks just OK. Almost like it was for another type of Ecobee... See pictures for example. I would have expected that this would have a better finish. In the end it does the job but wanted a better fit.

This beautifully made bezel helps blend the high tech of the Ecobee3 with classic wood cabinets and furniture. My wife didn't like the big white plastic one that came with the Ecobee, but loves this beautiful wood. Definitely recommended.

Fit my Ecobee 3 perfectly and looks beautiful with the wood trim and floors in my home.Note- this replaces the entire back plastic trim plate. I think some people are complaining about the fit without actually installing it right. It doesn't come with instructions, so I guess that's confusing. I found the fit to be perfect. This covered up a lot of holes from a lot of previous thermostat mounts in my plaster wall, and really added an element of "class" to the otherwise sterile looking Ecobee.

The Ecobee3 Golden Oak wall plate blends well with our Oak doors in our house and gives a "finished" (I always belonged here) look to the thermostat. I did not need to hide screw holes from the old thermostat's wall plate, the thermostat alone would have done that, but I installed the Oak plate because it looked very nice. Highly recommend if you hace oak or any other stained doors in your house.

Overall it worked as described and looks the same as the picture. I needed it because my last thermostat was a flush mount and left a big hole in my wall that the factory trim plate could not cover. I've left it unfinished for now and it does not look too bad. The price is a little high for what it is, but I couldn't find a competitive product after a lot of research and this one seem to be pretty good quality.

I bought this for my new Ecobee3. I patched and painted the wall where I installed the Ecobee3 so I didn't need the Wall Plate to "hide" anything, I just liked the look. It was easy to install and looks great on my wall with my new smart thermostat. Doesn't come with any instructions, but none are really necessary. Simple, easy to install, very nice appearance.
